Aaron Tveit Bio, Life and Career:

Aaron Tveit, whose real name is Aaron Kyle Tveit, was born on October 21, 1983 in Middletown, New York. He is a well-known American actor and singer who played Frank Abagnale Jr. in the original Broadway production of Catch Me If You Can and Gabe in the hit television series Next to Normal. In Gossip Girl (2007), he played Tripp van der Bilt, and in Les Miserables, he played Enjolras (2012). Graceland (2013) and Grease Live! are two more examples (2016).

Aaron Tveit is the son of Posie and Stanley Tveit, and he was born in Middletown, Orange County, New York. Jon, his younger brother by five years, is a priest. Tveit completed his studies at Middletown High School and graduated in 2001. First year at Ithaca College, he starred as Steve in a touring production of “Rent.” After that, he went back to school for a while, only to drop out again in 2006.

The national tour of “Hairspray” was his Broadway debut, in which role he played Link Larkin. Tveit played a young anesthesiologist in the 2017 film “Ghost Town,” marking the beginning of his film career (2008). On April 10th, 2011, Tveit made his Broadway debut as the play’s protagonist Frank Abagnale, Jr. In fact, he was nominated for a number of accolades, including the Drama League’s Distinguished Performance Award, for his turn in the role.

Tveit’s acting resume is extensive and includes roles in both the stage and on television. He has guest starred on “Ugly Betty” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” and he has made multiple appearances on the C.W. series “Gossip Girl” as Tripp van der Bilt. A lot happened for the celebrity in 2020. His work in “Moulin Rouge!” on Broadway earned him the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical.

He also got to film “One Royal Holiday” which later went on to become part of Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas movie program. He has appeared in two episodes of the FX horror anthology series American Horror Stories and was a regular on the Audible comedy podcast “Hit Job,” produced by Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video. As Danny Bailey in the musical comedy parody series “Schmigadoon!,” his next role, he was once again cast in a prominent role. The production for the series’ second season started in June 2022.

In the interim time before the out-of-town production of Next to Normal, Tveit played Dean in the musical version of the film Saved!, which performed for a limited engagement at Playwrights Horizons in June 2008. Tveit also started performing as Fiyero in Wicked in June of 2008. Leaving in November, he went on to win the 2009 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Supporting Performer in a Non-Resident Production for his role in the Arena Stage production of Next to Normal.

In January of 2009, Tveit returned to Wicked before leaving again in March for the Broadway production of Next to Normal, which had its formal opening on April 15 after previews had begun in March. Tveit won the Clarence Derwent Award from Actors’ Equity for his portrayal of Gabe. It’s a Catch-Me-If-You-Can Situation! After filming the sixth episode of Next to Normal on June 6, 2009, Tveit left to begin preparing for his role as Frank Abagnale Jr. in the film Catch Me If You Can. The musical ran at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre from July 28 to August 16, 2009. Tveit’s second stint on Next to Normal lasted from September 7th, 2009, through January 3rd, 2010.

In August, he also starred in the Hollywood Bowl’s production of Rent directed by Neil Patrick Harris, as Roger Davis. He took part in the MCC Theater Miscast Gala in 2009 and 2010. Tveit played Frank Abagnale Jr in the Broadway production of Catch Me If You Can, beginning on April 10, 2011, and closing on September 4, 2011. For this role he was nominated for the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical, the Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance, and the Fred Astaire Award for Best Male Dancer on Broadway.

During his time on Broadway in Next to Normal, Tveit also appeared as Nate Archibald’s cousin Tripp van der Bilt on the CW show Gossip Girl. Tveit played Betty Suarez’s boyfriend Zachary Boule in an episode of Ugly Betty titled “All the World’s a Stage” during this time. He had a role in Rob Epstein’s biopic Howl, which was based on the Allen Ginsberg poem of the same name and the subsequent trial that sprang from it.

Tveit played Peter Orlovsky, Ginsberg’s longterm companion, opposite James Franco. In April 21, 2010, he appeared on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as animal-loving yoga instructor Jan, who is questioned about the death of his lover. On September 28, 2011, he appeared as substance-abusing former basketball coach Stevie Harris.
