Adrian Pasdar Bio, Life and Career:
Adrian Pasdar’s mother, Rosemarie Pasdar (née Sbresny), is the proprietor of a travel business, and his father, Homayoon Pasdar, is a well-known cardiac surgeon. Adrian Pasdar was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. His mother was born in Germany and is of German and partial Polish origin, while his father is of Iranian descent. His mother was born in Germany. Powelton, Pennsylvania is a suburb of Philadelphia, and when he was just 2 years old, his father relocated the family there.
Because of his outstanding performance in football while he was in high school, he was awarded a scholarship to play the sport at the University of Florida in 1983. If he had been involved in a catastrophic accident during his freshman year that left him with scars on his face and serious injuries to his legs, he may have been able to have a successful future playing football. Adrian, who is very driven, completed his first year of college while confined to a wheelchair. He had extensive physical therapy and turned his focus to stage plays on campus.
He also regained a childhood passion in writing and performing. After he was injured and unable to play football anymore, he decided to drop out of school and move back home, where he found work with the theatrical company “People’s Light and Theatre Company.” Here, he worked on the construction of the set as well as the sound and the lighting. During the process of building a set, he accidentally severed the end of his left thumb. Because Adrian had the potential to transform adversity into success, he decided to enroll at the illustrious Lee Strasberg Theater Institute with the financial assistance provided by his medical compensation.
He was only 19 years old when he tried out for a part in the film Top Gun (1986). The director Tony Scott was so taken aback by his performance that he created the part of Chipper specifically for him. As a result of this, Adrian was cast in more significant roles in films such as Solarbabies (1986), Streets of Gold (1986), and Kathryn Bigelow’s cult vampire movie Near Dark (1987), in which he played the major character of “Caleb Colton.” Additionally, he was seen in episodes of Vital Signs (1990).
Adrian has always been an actor who is several steps ahead of his time, selecting for roles in indie and cable movies long before it was fashionable for feature stars to undertake those kinds of movies. In 1992, Adrian, who had the impression that he had entirely lost contact with the real world, moved back to New York from Hollywood. He supported himself by working as a cashier and acting in little roles, such as “Frankie” in Brian De Palma’s film Carlito’s Way. He also took on the occasional small role (1993).
Another huge break for Adrian came in 1995, when he was cast in the role of the titular character on the Fox series Profit, which did not last long (1996). His body of work is already rather impressive, and he has recently added directing to the list of the things he has done professionally. Both the short film Beyond Belief (1999), which he also directed, and the feature film Cement, which he also directed, were written and directed by him (2000).
On the weekend of June 24-25, 2000, I tied the knot with Natalie Maines, who was a member of the country music group The Chicks. Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas played host to their ceremony, which was a no-frills affair that cost $55 and was presided over by the chapel’s Pastor Ann. At the wedding of band member Emily Strayer and singer-songwriter Charlie Robison in May 1999, the couple had their first encounter with one another.
Jackson Slade Pasdar, who weighed 6 pounds at birth and was 20 inches long, became the actor’s first kid on March 15, 2001. He had the child with his now-ex-wife Natalie Maines. Went to the University of Florida on a football scholarship, but his playing career was cut short when he suffered catastrophic injuries in a rollover accident in Miami that occurred while he was driving his Jeep.
During my time as an intern with the People’s Light and Theater Company in Malvern, Pennsylvania, I held the position of tech resident. Attended the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute for their training. Worked at the Vandam Diner, which was owned by a friend of his father’s and located in lower East Manhattan. Bobcat Films is the name of his production firm. On the inside of his upper right arm is a tattoo of a bobcat. While filming Shanghai 1920, he received a tattoo of the Chinese character for strength, which can be seen on his arm (1991).
Spent one year each in Berlin and Paris as a resident. His first effort in screenwriting and directing was a short film titled Beyond Belief (1995), which made its debut at the East Hamptons Film Festival in October of the same year. The film has never been released. At the Houston Film Festival in June of 1996, it was given the prize for best finalist. Cement (2000), his first attempt at directing a feature-length picture, took home the top medal at the Worldfest-Houston Film Festival as the year’s best film.
His father, Homayoon Pasdar, was a surgeon and was born in Iran. He practiced in the area close to Philadelphia. His mother, Rosemarie Pasdar (née Rosemarie Sbresny), was of German and partial Polish origin and was born in Konigsberg, Germany. Her maiden name was Rosemarie Sbresny. In France, she initially worked as a nurse and later changed careers to become an English teacher. She is the proud owner of a prosperous travel agency. Anamarie Pasdar, the younger sister, was employed by the SoHo Rep Theater Company in New York City in the capacities of artistic director and assistant producer.
