Aidan Turner Bio, Life and Career:

Aidan Turner was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1983 is where Aidan Turner began his life. Aidan made a number of theater appearances after graduating from the Gaiety School of Acting in 2004, including many with Ireland’s national theatre, The Abbey. These kinds of shows included plays like “The Plough and the Stars,” “Romeo and Juliet,” and “A Cry from Heaven.”

In the year 2008, Turner began his career in film and television by playing a leading role in the movie Alarm and a co-starring role in the widely watched Irish television drama The Clinic. In 2009, Turner relocated to the United Kingdom in order to take on a prominent part in the critically acclaimed BBC series Being Human.

Aidan portrayed the bewitching role of “Mitchell” for three seasons, during which time he also acted in BBC’s Desperate Romantics and BBC’s top-rated TV movie Hattie. Both of these roles were on BBC. Turner was given the part of Kili in J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit by acclaimed filmmaker Peter Jackson in the year 2011.

Aidan played a role in Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments during the time that he was filming the hugely successful movie trilogy in New Zealand. The filming of the trilogy took roughly two years to complete. In 2014, Turner was selected to play the title role of Poldark in the BBC version.

Aidan was the sole actor under consideration for the role of this charming hero. In its first month of broadcast in the United Kingdom (March 2015) and in the United States (June 2015), Poldark had outstanding ratings. In addition to airing in Europe and Australia, the series produced by the BBC also had a second season that was broadcast in 2016.

In 2015, Aidan had the opportunity to collaborate with one of his favorite directors, Jim Sheridan, by playing a supporting role in the film The Secret Scripture. In addition to that, he provided the voice for a character in the first painted animation film, titled Loving Vincent.

He also had a role in the dark comedy, titled Look Away, and was the lead actor in the BBC miniseries, titled And Then There Were None. In the spring and summer of 2017, the immensely popular television show Poldark had its third season debut on the air.

In September 2016, Aidan started production on the third series of Poldark, beginning with location work in Cornwall with the other cast members. While the second season of the show was being broadcast on BBC1, the cast was busy shooting new episodes.

Indoor scenes were shot at the Bottleyard studios in Bristol throughout the month of March 2017, and the finished product was broadcast later that same year. Filming for the third season continued until March 2017. At the 2017 Odessa International Film Festival, which took place in July 2017, Aidan Turner was on the jury.

In the movie “The Man who shot Hitler and then the Bigfoot,” which began production in August of 2017, he portrayed the role of the younger version of Calvin Barr. He made his return to the role of Ross Poldark when production on the fourth season of Poldark began in September 2017, with filming taking place both on location in Cornwall and in the studios at Bottleyard in Bristol.

Production on the fourth installment of “Poldark” is scheduled to go until the beginning of 2018. Aidan Turner was able to land the starring role of Dante Gabriel Rossetti on BBC’s “Desperate Romantics” thanks in large part to his performance in “The Clinic” during the 2008-2009 season and his participation in the popular movie “Alarm” in 2008.

His subsequent role as John Mitchell, the main character in the television show “Being Human,” proved to be his most successful television performance to date. During the whole three-year duration of the show, from 2009 to 2011, he was an integral part of it.

It was at this time that Turner won a role in “Hattie,” the highest rated movie for television produced by the BBC. In 2011, Aidan secured a contract to play the character of Kili in the movie adaption of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit,” which would be helmed by the accomplished director Peter Jackson.

The first film of the series, “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” was released in 2012 and was met with phenomenal acclaim at its debut. In 2013, Turner had roles in the critically praised films “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” and “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,” both based on books written by Cassandra Clare.

Both films were released in the same year. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies was the third and last book in the Hobbit series, and it was published in 2014 to widespread acclaim. After the success of “The Hobbit” trilogy, Turner moved on to other projects in 2015, including “The Secret Scripture,” in which he played Jack McNulty, and “Look Away,” in which he played Russell.

In the same year, he also had roles in the television miniseries “And Then There Were None” and “Poldark,” which is considered to be his most successful project to date. As a result of ‘Poldark’s’ phenomenal success in the United Kingdom, Europe, and Australia, the show was renewed for a second and third season, both of which made their debuts in the years 2016 and 2017, respectively.
