Aldis Hodge Bio, Life and Career:

Aldis Hodge was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina, Aldis Hodge spent the majority of his childhood in New York City, New York. In addition to his work as an actor, Hodge also writes screenplays for movies and television shows, creates high-end timepieces, and is a passionate painter and artist. He resides in Los Angeles. He has established a fruitful career as a versatile performer, excelling in roles that appear in both film and television. Perhaps the thing that brought Hodge the most fame was his performance as Noah in the critically acclaimed television show Underground (2016), in which he also starred opposite Jurnee Smollett and Christopher Meloni. The plot of the 2016 film Underground focuses on a group of escaped slaves.

Who are trying to avoid the individuals who are responsible for bringing them back to their owners. These runaway slaves are helped by a couple who are secretly abolitionists and who operate a station on the Underground Railroad. Hodge appeared in the 2019 film What Men Want, which was produced by Paramount Pictures and starred Taraji P. Henson and Tracy Morgan.

Will Packer was the film’s producer, while Adam Shankman was the film’s director. The movie was released in February of 2019. Hodge just finished filming the most recent episode of City on a Hill (2019), a Showtime pilot that was co-produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck and in which he starred alongside Kevin Bacon in the starring role. In addition, he recently wrapped up his role as the titular character in the film Brian Banks (2018), which he co-starred in with Greg Kinnear.

Alongside Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monáe, Hodge appeared in the 2017 film “Hidden Figures,” which received widespread acclaim from both audiences and critics. In addition to being nominated for three Academy Awards, one of which was for Best Picture, the film also garnered two Golden Globe nominations, a SAG award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, and an NAACP award for Outstanding Motion Picture. All of these honors were won by the film.

As a result of his work in the movie, Hodge was presented with awards from both the National Board of Review and the Palm Springs Film Festival for Best Ensemble. In addition, Hodge appeared in the third season of the critically acclaimed and Emmy-winning television series Black Mirror in 2017. (2011). In 2016, Hodge appeared alongside Tom Cruise in the film Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016), which was directed by Edward Zwick.

In the film Straight Outta Compton (2015), which Hodge starred in, he played the role of MC Ren, a founding member of the influential rap group NWA. The movie had a mesmerizing effect on viewers all over the world. In addition to winning the NAACP Award for Outstanding Motion Picture, it was also nominated for an Academy Award and a SAG Award.

Hodge won a People’s Choice Award in 2013 for his performance as Alec Hardison in the critically acclaimed television series Leverage (2008), which aired on TNT. In this role, Hodge became a fan favorite. In 2013, Hodge was also a part of the cast of the eco-terrorism thriller The East (2013), which was produced by Fox Searchlight and starred Patricia Clarkson, Brit Marling, Alexander Skarsgard.

The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and Zal Batmanglij was the director. Hodge also had a role in the 2013 entry of the Die Hard (1988) film franchise, titled A Good Day to Die Hard, which was produced by Twentieth Century Fox.

Other roles that Hodge has played on television include appearances in the critically acclaimed series TURN: Washington’s Spies (2014), Friday Night Lights (2006), Supernatural (2005), The Walking Dead (2010), Girlfriends (2000), The Blacklist (2013), City of Angels (2000), Bones (2005), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000), CSI: Miami (2002), ER (1994), Cold Case (2003), Charmed (1998), and Boston Public (2000).

Hodge got his start in the entertainment industry when he and his older brother Edwin Hodge landed a print assignment for Essence magazine when Hodge was just three years old. Until he and his brother were cast on Sesame Street in 1969, he continued to work as a model for print ads and commercials. Later, he made the switch to the stage when he and his brother joined the Tony Award–winning revival of “Showboat” on Broadway.

During that time, he was involved in a number of films, such as Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995), Bed of Roses (1996), Edmond (2005), The Ladykillers (2004), and Big Momma’s House (2005). On the day of Hodge’s twenty-first birthday in 2007, he was informed that he had been cast in the part of Alec Hardison.

Because of his work in the television show Leverage in 2010, he was considered for the Saturn Award in the category of Best Supporting Actor in Television. Aaron Paul, who stars in the AMC series Breaking Bad, was declared the winner.
