Archie Manning Bio, Life and Career:

When people think of Archie Manning, they think of football. But Archie’s appeal surpasses his athletic exploits. His warm demeanor, determination, and sense of humor have inspired people far and wide. He works in public relations and consulting positions for various local, regional, and national corporations. For 25 years, he staged four Archie Manning Cystic Fibrosis benefit golf events in Louisiana and Mississippi and is interested in various philanthropic and civic initiatives.

Archie was born May 19, 1949, in Drew, Mississippi. He attended the University of Mississippi, where he was selected as an All-American Quarterback, and his number is retired. He was selected Mississippi’s Greatest All-Time Athlete in 1992 and was awarded Mississippi’s Most Popular Athlete of the Century. He was voted to the 50-Year All-South Team (1940-1990), designated one of the Top 25 Athletes of the Century in Louisiana, and he and his son Peyton were selected among the 100 All-Time Greatest College Football Players. Archie was inducted into the National Football Foundation College Hall of Fame and is a member of numerous Halls of Fame, including Louisiana and Mississippi.
