Bill Duke was born on February 26, 1943, in Poughkeepsie, New York, USA, to parents William Henry Duke Sr. and Ethel Louise Duke. Bill Duke was named after his grandfather. After receiving his diploma from ‘Franklin D. Roosevelt High School’ in Hyde Park, he enrolled in ‘Dutchess Community College’ in Poughkeepsie, where he studied creative writing and performing arts. In the supernatural musical thriller film ‘American Satan,’ directed by Ash Avildsen, he appeared as Gabriel, the archangel, in the year 2017. The next year, he portrayed Caruthers in the psychedelic action horror thriller “Mandy,” which received widespread praise from film critics. The world premiere of the movie took place on January 19, 2018, at the Sundance Film Festival.

Between the years 2018 and 2019, he performed the role of Agent Percy Odell in a total of eight episodes of the television drama series ‘Black Lightning.’ In the sports drama film ‘High Flying Bird,’ which was directed by Steven Soderbergh and released in 2019, he plays the role of Spence.
