Brian Koppelman Bio, Life, and Career:

Brian William Koppelman is a showrunner who was born in the United States on April 27, 1966. Koppelman is the co-writer of Ocean’s Thirteen and Rounders, as well as the producer of films such as The Illusionist and The Lucky Ones, the director of films such as Solitary Man and the documentary This Is What They Want for ESPN’s 30 for 30 series, and the co-creator, showrunner, and executive producer of Showtime’s Billions. In addition, Koppelman has produced films such as The Illusionist and The Lucky Ones.

As well as Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber. Koppelman was the son of Brenda “Bunny” Koppelman and Charles Koppelman and was born on April 27, 1966, in Roslyn Harbor, New York. Koppelman attended both Tufts University and Fordham University School of Law, earning degrees from both institutions. As a young adult, he became involved in the management of local Long Island bands.

At the Central Synagogue in Manhattan, Koppelman and the author Amy Levine exchanged vows in the year 1992.  Just Jenny is the name of a show that is hosted by his sister, Jennifer Koppelman Hutt, on the Sirius Satellite Radio network.  Koppelman identifies himself as an atheist from a philosophical standpoint, despite the fact that he considers himself to be culturally Jewish. This is because Koppelman does not believe in God. Koppelman is an avid supporter of the New York Knicks, New York Jets, and New York Yankees.

He was also known for his work as a band booker at a local nightclub. As a result of his work booking acts, he became acquainted with Eddie Murphy and was able to assist in the negotiation of Murphy’s first record deal.  While he was a student at Tufts University, he came across the singer-songwriter Tracy Chapman and went on to executive produce her debut studio album.  Later on, the president of Giant Records, Irving Azoff, recruited him to work there.  Koppelman worked as an A&R representative for a number of record companies over the course of his career, including Elektra Records, Giant Records, SBK Records, and EMI Records.

Together with his writing partner, David Levien, Koppelman penned the first draught of the screenplay for the 1997 film Rounders. Koppelman has stated that his method for writing as a group has only one rule, which is that there are to be no video games played in the office. Koppelman penned, produced, and directed his debut feature film, Knockaround Guys, in the year 2001. Film critic Roger Ebert awarded the movie three out of a possible four stars. Since then, Koppelman has contributed to the production of twelve films, including writing the screenplay for Ocean’s Thirteen and directing the documentary This Is What They Want for ESPN’s 30 for 30 series.

Koppelman commented in 2016 about his five-year practice of Transcendental Meditation, saying, “For me, it was a way to control anxiety, and I found that the physical manifestations of anxiety just dissipated by about 85 or 90 percent… ” Koppelman began his practice of Transcendental Meditation in 2003. That alone was a huge step forward in my life because it meant I no longer had to deal with symptoms of anxiety such as a racing stomach or headaches brought on by stress.
