Christy Hemme Bio, Life, and Career:
Born on October 28, 1980, Christina Lee Hemme is an American retired professional wrestler, ring announcer, backstage interviewer, singer, and model. She is also known by her ring name, Christina Lee Hemme. As a former wrestler in the WWE, she is most remembered for her time spent in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (now known as Impact Wrestling), where she worked as a ring announcer and was one of the first Knockouts. In addition, she was the victor in the WWE Diva Search in 2004, which earned her a prize of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars and a contract with the organization for a period of one year.
Hemme spent her childhood in Temecula, California, despite the fact that she was born in Poway, also in California. She had a lot of fun competing on dirt motorcycles and street bikes. She “self-described” herself as being a tomboy. She spent a lot of her childhood watching wrestling and her favorite wrestler was The Undertaker. At Temecula Valley High School, she participated in the cheerleading program for a total of two years. She received her diploma in the year 1998 when she was seventeen years old.
Hemme received her education at Mount San Jacinto College, where she focused her studies on dance. Following her graduation, she moved to Los Angeles, California, in order to launch a career in the modeling industry. When Hemme first started doing burlesque, she was a member of a group called “The Purrfect Angelz.” She gave performances at Harley motorcycle rallies as well as Easyrider tours. She later made appearances in publications such as Maxim, Playboy, Rolling Stone, and Stuff magazine among others.
In addition, she made an appearance in the music videos for the songs “Chrome” and “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” by Trace Adkins, as well as music videos for the bands Blink-182 and Sonic. In addition to that, she was a spokesmodel for Hawaiian Tropic and appeared in ads for AT&T Corporation and TrimSpa. Other early employment included working as a waitress at a Hooters restaurant.
Her image has also been featured on Bench Warmer trading cards over the course of the previous few years under the name Christy “Sunni” Hemme. In September 2002, she was the featured model on Bullz-eye.com under the name Sunni. Her job as a model eventually led to her participation in the “Juggy Dance Squad” on The Man Show, which aired on Comedy Central in 2003. Hemme continued to work on the show for an additional year, during which time she made an appearance on The Commies, an award event produced by Comedy Central, on December 7, 2003.
Hemme competed in the Lingerie Bowl in the year 2004. She was featured on the cover of the issue of Playboy magazine which was published in April of 2005. Hemme made sure to get her father’s OK before posing nude for the magazine. Her father had previously said that she should never be nude for a photograph. She also participated in the Lingerie Bowl in 2006 as a quarterback for the Chicago Bliss Club, which was a member of the Lingerie Football League.
Midway through the year 2004, Hemme took part in the Diva Search, which was a competition organized by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) to find new Divas for the company. During the course of the competition, Hemme and the five other finalists participated in a game of dodgeball against seven existing Divas at SummerSlam on August 15, which resulted in the elimination of all eight Divas; however, only one finalist, Joy Giovanni, was eliminated. On September 20, it was announced that Hemme had won the competition, and the prize consisted of a one-year contract with WWE, along with a compensation package of $250,000.
After her conflict with DeCesare, Hemme engaged in a competition with Trish Stratus, who held the title of WWE Women’s Champion at the time. An initiation party for Hemme was thrown by Stratus, along with Molly Holly and Gail Kim. However, the celebration quickly degenerated into a 3-on-1 Bra and Panties Handicap match, which Hemme ended up losing. In spite of the fact that Stratus appeared to be mocking Hemme’s presence in the April 2005 issue of Playboy, Stratus disrupted the unveiling of Hemme and spray painted all over the cover.
Hemme retaliated by slapping Stratus, which led to Stratus knocking Hemme out with a Chick Kick and spraying the word “slut” on her back. Hemme later apologized for her actions. Eventually, Hemme issued a challenge to Stratus for a bout at WrestleMania 21 which she accepted during the weeks leading up to the competition, Stratus’s archrival Lita served as her trainer. Hemme made an unsuccessful bid to unseat Stratus as the Women’s Champion during the competition that took place on April 3.
