Clint McElroy Bio, Life and Career:

After many years at the helm of WTCR-FM in West Virginia, Clint McElroy has hung up his mic. Clint McElroy is the author and creator of a series of graphic novels based on the popular roleplaying game podcast he co-hosts with his kids Justin, Travis, and Griffin called The Adventure Zone. Clint voiced the disclaimer for the brief McElroy Seeso series. In the opening credits, he played a number of roles, including a fisherman, a train conductor, and an old-fashioned theater usher.
Clint returned to his kids’ Dungeons & Dragons and tabletop gaming humor podcast The Adventure Zone as a regular cast member, performing such roles as Merle Highchurch, Ned Chicane, Argonaut Keene, and Zoox Anthellae. As a DM, he oversaw their Fate system pilot game, Commitment, which ran between seasons.
In the early 1990s, Clint penned a number of comic books for NOW Comics, including adaptations of the films Freejack and Universal Soldier as well as the original Green Hornet: Dark Tomorrow. In 1992, he contributed to Eclipse Comics with the story “Blood is the Harvest.” It was one of the last comics published before the organization disbanded in 1994.
Clint co-wrote a graphic novel version of The Adventure Zone: Balance beginning with Here There Be Gerblins in 2018. A new volume was released each summer. The four books that have been published thus far have all become bestsellers on The New York Times Best Sellers List. Clint and his sons co-wrote the five-issue limited series Journey into Mystery, which was a part of Marvel’s War of the Realms storyline.
He is well-known in West Virginia for his work on the podcast The Adventure Zone and as the host of various FM radio shows. Mcelroy also works as a part-time faculty member in the Theatre Program at Marshall University. In 2018, the McElroy family and First Second Books released a graphic novel adaptation of the first story arc from The Adventure Zone: Balance, titled Here There Be Gerblins. The 2019 follow-up, titled Murder on the Rockport Limited!, is out now.
