Demi Adejuyigbe Bio, Life and Career:
The name Demi Adejuyigbe is well-known in podcasting circles. He was born in London, England on August 2, 1992, and his date and place of birth are both August 2. Demi is also well-known for her work as a podcaster. She first came to public attention when she became a co-host on the highly successful podcast Gilmore Guys. Both the NBC comedy show “The Good Place” and the CBS late night program “The Late Late Show with James Corden” have benefited from his talents as a writer.
The origin of Demi can be traced back to England. In 2018, he made an appearance on Doug Benson’s podcast entitled Doug Loves Movies. It is estimated that Demi Adejuyigbe has a net worth or a net income of anywhere between one million and five million dollars. Because of his major work as a Podcast Host, he has amassed a significant amount of wealth.
Demi Adejuyigbe is known as “the ‘September’ guy” in many parts of the internet because of the videos he has been making of himself singing, dancing, and defying the laws of physics to the popular Earth, Wind & Fire song for the past few years. These videos have gone viral and have been viewed millions of times. He is extremely proud of the videos and the money that they brought in for charitable causes.
“Finally, I get to tell you about the amazing things I’ve been doing!” he exclaims to Variety. However, in the same proportion, they turned into a burden. The director, writer, and actor has found that he is ready to go on to other things after devoting years of his life (and more than $40,000 of his own money) to the projects.
The phenomena got its start in 2016 with a low-key clip that was very similar to the many other skits that Adejuyigbe had released online over the years. While dancing in his apartment to a goofy edit of “September,” in which Earth, Wind & Fire lead vocalist Philip Bailey sings only the first words of the song over and over again: “Do you remember the 21st night of September?” he wears a gray t-shirt that reads “SEPT 21” on the front and “THAT’S TODAY” on the back.
In September of 2017, Adejuyigbe upped the ante by adding balloons, confetti, yet another customized t-shirt, and a saxophone to the mix. The year 2018 took it a step further by including a performance by the West Los Angeles Children’s Choir and a call to action to purchase one of the “Sept 21” shirts, with one hundred percent of the earnings going to RAINN, RAICES, and the National Center for Transgender Equality.
The same pattern was repeated in 2019, when Adejuyigbe worked together with Mariachi Ausente to donate the revenues from the sale of t-shirts to the Climate Mobilization project. The videos gained even more attention online during the years. “After I finished the second one, I had the feeling that, ‘Okay, this is a thing with expectations behind it,'” she said. As I was prepared for the one in 2019, I thought to myself, “Oh, God.”
Adejuiygbe states, “I had decided that this was the last time I would ever do it.” However, he reconsidered his decision when his good friend Marina Shifrin, who is a writer and producer, offered to assist him. Together, in the year 2020, they created a film that was a massive improvement over the ones that came before it. It featured optical illusions, a banner that read “THAT’S TODAY” flying through the air, and a performance by Adejuyigbe on top of a U-Haul truck.
An additional clip was added at the very end of the videos in which Adejuyigbe began to drop hints about his exhaustion with the videos by saying, “Well, gang, we did it. Five years, five different versions of the ‘September’ video. Because it is such a wonderful round number, I believe that it is the ideal location to come to an end. Okay, see you later!” However, following a brief pause, he continued by saying, “However, one of the best things about producing this video every year is that I get to use it as a platform to raise money for organizations that may benefit from the intention, and I don’t want to give that up.”
Therefore, I’ll try to work out a deal with you people. He gave his word that he would create one more video in 2021 if the one he released in 2020 was successful in raising $50,000. The money would be donated to Street Watch L.A., the Selah Neighborhood Homeless Association, the Blackroots Alliance, the Trans United Fund, and the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum. He also promised that he would make the final video in 2021. The target was met in less than three hours thanks to the generous contributions received.
