Dennis Miller Bio, Life, and Career:

Dennis Michael Miller is a well-known stand-up comedian, talk show host, actor, political commentator, and former sportscaster who was born in the United States on November 3, 1953. Miller was a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 1985 until 1991. After leaving the show, he went on to host a series of his own talk shows, which were broadcast on HBO, CNBC, and in syndication. Miller was the host of a daily, three-hour, self-titled talk radio program that was broadcast by Westwood One and syndicated nationally from 2007 until 2015. The first episode of the Dennis Miller One show aired on RT America on March 9, 2020.

When he was a young boy, his parents took him to see the comedian Kelly Monteith perform at a club in Pittsburgh. After that, he knew he wanted to pursue a career in comedy. Miller worked a variety of jobs after graduating from college, including stints as a deli clerk at Giant Eagle, a janitor, a delivery man for a florist, and an ice cream scooper at the Village Dairy.

In a later conversation with Tom Snyder, the comedian recalled his pre-comedy work history, specifically how he had dropped out of college and attended a real estate seminar at a “bad hotel.” The seminar lasted for five hours, during which time there were no breaks for the bathroom. Miller exclaimed, “I’m in Hell, I don’t even know what I am going to do for a living here.” This was in response to the fact that he was informed near the end of the lecture that he would only be paid on a commission basis. I’m a nut case.” Following that, Miller worked as a delivery man for a company that he refers to as “an all-gay florist.” After he left that position, he started working as an ice cream scooper.
