Dominique Wilkins Bio, Life, and Career:

Jacques Dominique Wilkins is a retired professional basketball player from the United States. He is most known for his time spent playing for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Wilkins was born on January 12, 1960. Wilkins was named to the NBA All-Star Team nine times during his career, and he was selected to the All-NBA Team seven times. He is considered by many to be one of the most acrobatic slam dunkers in the history of the NBA, garnering him the nickname “the Human Highlight Film.” Because of his status as one of the most accomplished players in the history of the NBA, he was selected for inclusion on the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in October of 2021.

During the 1985–1986 NBA season, Wilkins finished as the league’s leading scorer. Wilkins was recognized as a deserving player by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and inducted that year (2006). At the same time, the Jazz were struggling to make ends meet due to a lack of cash flow. As a direct consequence of this, the Utah Jazz decided to make a deal with the Atlanta Hawks to acquire John Drew, Freeman Williams, and one million dollars in cash many months after the draft. Wilkins won the scoring title in the 1985–1986 season with an average of 30.3 points per game and had a streak of 10 consecutive seasons in which he averaged more than 25 points per game.
