Elizabeth Gillies Bio, Life, and Career:

Elizabeth Egan Gillies was brought into the world on July 26, 1993, in the town of Haworth, New Jersey, by her parents, Dave and Lorrie Gillies. Her only sibling is a younger brother who was born in 1996. Gillies has mentioned in interviews that she has Irish ancestry as well as Italian maternal and paternal grandmothers and grandfathers. She enrolled in an online high school program after dropping out of her freshman year of high school in order to pursue a career in acting. When Gillies was 12 years old, she began attending open casting calls in the area, which was the beginning of her career as an actress.

She became a familiar face on television almost immediately, thanks to her appearances in advertisements for firms such as Virgin Mobile. Gillies’s first role on television was as a recurring character in three episodes of The Black Donnellys. These episodes were his first experience in the television industry. She has indicated that her parents did not feel it was suitable for her to watch the final performance in its entirety at the time because they believed it was inappropriate for their daughter’s age. She has supporting roles in three films released in 2008: The Clique, Harold, and Locker 514.

In the same year, she was also given the role of Lucy in a Goodspeed production of the new musical 13 by Jason Robert Brown. Her future co-star on Victorious, Ariana Grande, was cast opposite her in this performance. Later on, in the same year, 13 made its debut on Broadway, becoming the first show of its kind to do so. Both the cast and the band consisted solely of young people aged 13 to 19. Gillies continued to work on the production up to the day it was shut down on January 4, 2009.

In the year 2010, Gillies was cast as the bad girl and occasional antagonist Jade West in the Nickelodeon television show Victorious, which is a sitcom revolving around teenagers at a performing arts high school in Hollywood.  This marked her second time working alongside Grande, who she had previously worked with on the show 13 (see also: Gillies has this to say concerning her character on Victorious: “It works out perfectly. I have a lot of fun being Jade. She is not so much the “mean” girl as the “bad” girl in so many different ways, according to what I usually say. She is not wholly devoid of humanity and possesses a variety of human traits; contrary to popular belief, she is not a psychopath. She has a nice relationship with her lover. It’s fun when you get to play a character who has some layers.”

The first episode of the show aired on March 27, 2010. During her time on Victorious, Gillies was featured in a number of songs that were included on the soundtracks for both Victorious and Victorious 2.0. Some of these songs include “Take a Hint” and “Give It Up,” which was a duet with Grande (duet with Victoria Justice). She also composed and recorded the song “You Don’t Know Me” for an episode of Victorious, and the song was eventually included in the third season of the show’s compilation album Victorious 3.0.

Her breakout roles as Jade West in the Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious (2010–2013) and as Fallon Carrington in The CW’s relaunch of Dynasty brought her to the forefront of the entertainment industry (2017–2022). Gillies made her first appearance on Broadway at the age of 15, assuming the role of Lucy in the musical 13. She made her debut on television in the comedy series The Black Donnellys in 2007, and she later became known for her role as Jade West in the Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious (2010–2013).

She lent her voice to the character of Daphne in the Nickelodeon show Winx Club (which aired from 2011 to 2014), and she played a pivotal part in the Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll episode of the FX comedy series (2015–2016). The CW’s series Dynasty (2017–2022) is a revival of the 1980s series of the same name, and Gillies played the role of billionaire heiress and energy executive Fallon Carrington in the series. She has also made appearances in a number of feature films and television movies, such as the horror movie Animal (2014), the television movie Killing Daddy (2014), the comedy movie Vacation (2015), and the black comedy thriller movie Arizona (2015). (2018).

In 2011, Gillies made her first appearance on Victorious with the song “Give It Up,” performing alongside Ariana Grande. During her time on the program, she also released a number of songs, including “You Don’t Know Me” and “Take a Hint,” both of which are included on the soundtrack for the show Victorious and feature Victoria Justice as a vocalist. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she worked with Seth MacFarlane to release an album on Spotify that was named Songs from Home (2020).
