Ethan Casey Bio, Life, and Career:

Ethan Casey is a well-known American journalist who has contributed to the publication of five books either as an author or editor. PakCast is a weekly podcast discussing Pakistan’s relations with the West, and he was the founding editor of the online global affairs magazine BlueEar.com (1999–2005). He is also the founding co-editor of PakCast (2006–), which debuted in 2006. The work of Casey has been published in a variety of journals, including The Guardian, The Financial Times, The Boston Globe, and Geographical Magazine, amongst others.

He has reported from a variety of countries and regions, such as Haiti, Zimbabwe, Nepal, and Pakistan, and he has spent significant amounts of time living in both Bangkok and London. Casey received his bachelor’s degree in 1987 from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. His first book was titled Queen of Diamonds: The Tiger Stadium Story, and it was written in collaboration with journalist Michael Betzold (1991, reprinted 1997). The book provided a detailed account of the history of Tiger Stadium as well as the efforts of supporters of the Detroit Tigers to preserve the venue. Casey was employed as a writer in Bangkok from 1993 to 1998.

During that time, he covered stories from all around the region for a variety of publications, including The Globe and Mail, the South China Morning Post, and Outlook magazine, among others. After that, he moved to London and settled there for a number of years. While there, he established the online periodical and discussion group known as BlueEar.com. Casey edited or co-edited three books while working as the editor of BlueEar.com. In 2018, Ethan completed his studies at Presbyterian College and received his diploma. He received his degree with a concentration in biology and completed minors in chemistry and environmental science.
