Greg Olsen Bio, Life and Career:

Wayne Hills High School, located in New Jersey, was Greg Olsen’s alma mater. After that, he continued his education at the University of Miami in Florida, where he earned a degree in criminology. At the University of Miami, where he played from 2004 to 2006, he earned a letter all three years, started 26 of the 33 games he participated in, and finished with 87 receptions for 1,215 yards (an average of 14.0 yards) and six touchdowns. Olsen earned honourable mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference recognition as a sophomore after being named to the first team as a junior at Miami, where he played for four years. He started 12 games in each of his final two seasons at Miami.

Olsen was ultimately chosen by the Chicago Bears in the first round of the NFL Draft (4/28/07), when he was taken 31st overall. In 2011, he was sent from Chicago to Carolina as part of a deal. Olsen is now ranked seventh all-time among tight ends in NFL history for receiving yards, and he is ranked second all-time among active tight ends in terms of career receiving yards. He currently ranks sixth all-time among tight ends in the history of the NFL in terms of receptions. Olsen made NFL history in 2016 when he became the first tight end in the league’s annals to record 1,000 receiving yards in each of the previous three seasons.

He is the all-time leader for the franchise in receiving yards, receptions, and games with a 100-yard receiving total, and he holds the record for the most receiving yards in a season by a tight end (1,104), which he set in 2015. Olsen and his wife, Kara, were motivated to establish the HEARTest Yard Program in order to provide assistance and support to those who were going through conditions that were like those that their son, T.J., was going through. T.J. was born with a severe congenital heart problem. Olsen is originally from Wayne, New Jersey, and he received his education at the University of Miami. He and his wife Kara have two kids and a daughter, and the whole family lives in Charlotte, North Carolina.
