James Allsup Bio, Life and Career:

James Walker Allsup was born in the United States on September 7, 1995, but he legally changed his name to James Walker Allsup on July 12, 2021, after filing a petition to do so. political analyst and podcaster on the far right of the political spectrum. Allsup has said that he would rather be referred to as an “American nationalist” than anything else. Up until the year 2020, he was an active participant in the activities of the American Identity Movement, which was a white supremacist and neo-Nazi organisation. Allsup was a co-host of a podcast that was formerly broadcast on the neo-Nazi network known as The Right Stuff. Prior to the removal of his channel by Google as part of a policy shift to prohibit content linked with white supremacists, he was a prominent figure on YouTube.

Allsup won the election for the position of president of the College Republicans group at Washington State University in the year 2015. Allsup travelled to Charlottesville, Virginia, in August 2017 to take part in the neo-Nazi protest known as Unite the Right. After the protest descended into violence, he stepped down from his position as president of the College Republicans at WSU in 2017, but he was later re-elected to the position in November of that same year. Due to the requirements of the university, he was unable to accept the position because he was about to graduate. His campaign for the job of a precinct committee officer in the Republican Party of Whitman County, Washington, in June 2018 was unchallenged, and he won the position without any competition.

On January 7, 2019, the Whitman County Republican Central Committee held a vote that resulted in a unanimous decision to expel Allsup from the party, to not recognise his vote on the committee, and to withdraw his voting position. All of these actions took place simultaneously. On September 7th, 1995, Allsup was born in the city of Beaverton, Oregon. Bothell High School conferred his diploma upon him in 2014, and he went on to study at Washington State University (WSU) in Pullman, Washington, from which he received his degree in 2017.

During his time at WSU, he served as president of the WSU College Republicans and organised events that brought Republican candidates to the campus, including Bill Bryant and Chris Vance. In 2015, Allsup won the election to serve as president of the College Republicans chapter at WSU. He held that position until August 14, 2017, when he announced his resignation. One student who participated in the organisation and went to its meetings asserts that Allsup brought about significant changes to the character of the group. Milo Yiannopoulos was scheduled to give a talk at WSU in January 2017, but Allsup was able to get the programme cancelled owing to inclement weather.

Gavin Pielow, who is the president of the WSU Young Democrats, carried on with the hosting of a “Civics 101” programme even though it was intended to be an “alternative event” to Yiannopolous’ scheduled appearance. While serving as president of the College Republicans, Allsup was actively involved in a number of public forum arguments with Pielow, who served as his opponent. A debate between Allsup and Pielow took place in the spring of 2017, and ASWSU senator Kevin Schilling served as the debate’s moderator. Topics that were brought up during the debate included the involvement of Russia in President Donald Trump’s administration, confirmations to the Supreme Court, U.S. foreign policy, the proposed border wall between the United States and Mexico, the national budget, and health care.

In 2016, Allsup worked for Students for Rand, the youth arm of Rand Paul’s presidential campaign, as the Washington coordinator for the organisation. Allsup was hired by Ryan Fournier to serve as the Senior Advisor at Students for Trump, a non-profit political organisation based in Campbell, North Carolina, that is supporting Donald Trump’s presidential campaign but is unaffiliated with the official campaign organisation. This happened after the suspension of Paul’s campaign. At the University of Washington, the so-called “Trump Wall” was built on May 9, 2016, with Allsup’s assistance in organising the event.

The wall was 10 feet by 8 feet (three metres by 2.4 metres) and was constructed out of plywood. It was painted to look like a brick wall and had the inscriptions “Blue Lives Matter” and “Make America Great Again” painted on the front of it. The event, which was co-hosted by UW Students for Trump and UW College Republicans, was met with “about one hundred” individuals who demonstrated against it. Allsup noted that the message that was intended to be sent by the event was “that we need to have a robust immigration policy and enforce the law,” and in reference to the visibility that the event generated, he stated that “the reason people demonstrate is for exposure, media or otherwise.”
