Jennifer Schwalbach Smith Bio, Life, and Career:
Jennifer Schwalbach Smith is a well-known American actress, podcaster, and former reporter for USA Today. She was born on April 7, 1971, but is also sometimes credited as Jennifer Schwalbach. During Schwalbach’s time as a reporter for USA Today, Smith was the subject of an assignment that required him to conduct an interview with the director. She was offered a job at MTV for a short period of time, but she ultimately left the company because she became pregnant with their child.
Smith reportedly looked for an actress to play the role of Missy, one of the female diamond robbers, in the film Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, which was released on DVD in 2001. Smith’s commentary was included on the DVD. Schwalbach had expressed interest in taking on the part, so the director made the decision to give her the opportunity. At the beginning of the movie, their daughter Harley also made an appearance as a younger version of Silent Bob.
Schwalbach was a co-host for the daily internet radio show that was broadcast on SModcast Internet Radio (S.I.R) hosted on SModcast.com. The show was called the SMod Co SMorning Show. Before SMod Co SMorning Show, she was a co-host on a show called Plus One Per Diem. However, the show was canceled in favor of the SMod Co SMorning Show.
Schwalbach went on to play supporting roles in a number of other productions that were associated with Smith, including Jersey Girl (in which Harley also appeared) and an episode of the Canadian television series Degrassi: The Next Generation in which Smith appeared in the episode “Goin’ Down the Road: Part 1.” In the movie “Now You Know” from 2002, she also had a role as a prostitute.
She played Emma Bunting, Dante Hicks’ fiancée, in the 2006 film Clerks II, and she had a small role as Betsy in the 2008 film Zack and Miri Make a Porno, which was directed by Kevin Smith. Schwalbach gave her voice to Blunt-Girl in Jay & Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie and portrayed Esther Cooper in Kevin Smith’s horror movie Red State, in which she also appeared.
Oh, What a Lovely Tea Party is a comprehensive documentary on the production of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back that runs for more than three hours and is her only credit as a director. She and Malcolm Ingram directed the film together. A private film festival hosted by Kevin Smith was held in Los Angeles in 2005 under the name Vulgarthon. The following year, Vulgarthon was held in Red Bank, New Jersey, and the film was screened there as well.
