Jodie Whittaker Bio, Life, and Career:
Jodie Auckland Whittaker is an English actress who was born on June 17, 1982. She is best known for her roles as the thirteenth version of the Doctor in the British television series Doctor Who (2017–2022) and as Beth Latimer in the American television series Broadchurch (2013–2017). After making her debut in the feature film Venus in 2006, for which she was nominated for both the British Independent Film Award and the Satellite Award, she quickly rose to prominence.
After that, she received accolades for her appearances in the cult science fiction film Attack the Block (2011) and the Black Mirror episode “The Entire History of You” (2011). Both of these roles were in 2011. On July 16, 2017, the BBC made the announcement that Whittaker would be taking on the role of the thirteenth incarnation of the Doctor in the television series Doctor Who. She officially took over the role from Peter Capaldi in the episode “Twice Upon a Time” that aired during the Christmas special in 2017.
Whittaker made her debut as The Doctor in the eleventh series, which began airing in October 2018, marking the beginning of her first full-length run in the role. She remained on in the role through the twelfth and thirteenth series of the show, both of which aired in 2020.

Both of these projects were filmed in 2010. She is most known for her roles in the films The Kid (2010), One Day (2011), Hello Carter (2013), and Good Vibrations (2013).
She is also known for her performance in the cult classic science fiction comedy horror film Attack the Block. She also made her comeback to the stage in a modern production of the classic Greek tragedy Antigone, in which she played the title role and was paired with Christopher Eccleston, who played the role of Creon. At the British Independent Film Awards in 2014, Whittaker was a winner.
She made her debut as Sandra Grimes in the reality-based spy drama miniseries The Assets in 2014 and the following year, she played the role of Anna in the BAFTA-nominated short film Emotional Fusebox. She later reprised the role in the feature-length adaptation of the film, Adult Life Skills, and received nominations for Best Actress at the British Independent Film Awards and the National Film Awards.
