John Derbyshire Bio, Life, and Career:

John Derbyshire is a political commentator, writer, journalist, and computer programmer who was born in the United States of America on June 3, 1945. He was born in the United Kingdom. In the past, he was recognized as a paleoconservative, but he lost his job at the National Review in 2012 after penning an article for an online journal that was generally seen as racist. He is currently employed at the white supremacist website VDARE, where he occupies a staff position.

In the piece that led to his dismissal, Derbyshire recommended that white and Asian parents have conversations with their children about the dangers posed by black people. This recommendation led to Derbyshire’s termination. In addition, he said that parents should advise their children to avoid growing up in neighborhoods that were predominately black.

He wrote a line that said, “If planning a trip to a beach or amusement park at someday, find out whether it is likely to be overwhelmed with blacks on that date.” This line was incorporated into the text.  Additionally, he has contributed articles to the New English Review. In his writings, he discusses a wide variety of political and cultural issues, such as racial issues, immigration, China, history, and mathematics.

In 1996, the novel Seeing Calvin Coolidge in a Dream by Derbyshire was selected as a “Notable Book of the Year” by the New York Times. In 2004, he published the non-fiction book Prime Obsession, which went on to win the inaugural Euler Book Prize given by the Mathematical Association of America. In September 2009, a political book titled We Are Doomed: Reclaiming Conservative Pessimism was made available for purchase.

Derbyshire received his education at the Northampton School for Boys before moving on to complete his degree in mathematics at University College London, which is a part of the University of London. He had a job as a computer programmer on Wall Street before he decided to devote his life entirely to writing. Derbyshire once suggested that it would be in the best interest of the United States of America if women were denied the ability to vote.

It was in 2005 when he made the contentious claim that the most physically appealing years for women are between the ages of 15 and 20. The monthly column that he wrote at the time had a series of random comments. Author John Derbyshire was born in the United Kingdom but now makes his home in the United States, where he became a naturalized citizen in the year 2002.

Columnist for National Review Online and New English Review, he also writes for New English Review. He has written about a wide variety of subjects, such as immigration, China, history, mathematics, culture, politics, and race, among others. Derbyshire received his degree in mathematics from University College London, where he also earned his degree.

His wife hails from China, and the couple now has two little ones of their own. He had a job as a computer programmer on Wall Street before he decided to devote his life entirely to writing. Derbyshire was fired from his position as a writer at National Review in 2012 as a direct result of a racist article that he had written and published in Taki’s Magazine.

The hardcover edition of Prime Obsession: Bernhard Riemann and the Greatest Unsolved Problem in Mathematics by Derbyshire was the first edition to be released in 2003, and the paperback version was released the following year in 2004. The Riemann hypothesis, which is one of the Millennium Problems, is the primary topic of this article.  According to what Derbyshire writes in the book’s preface, the target audience for the book is “the educated and curious but nonmathematical reader.

Prime Obsession investigates a wide variety of subjects, some of which include the prime number theorem, complex numbers, field theory, the zeta function, the harmonic series, and others. The biographical sections provide information that is pertinent to the lives of mathematicians who worked in these areas, such as Euler, Gauss, Lejeune Dirichlet, Lobachevsky, Chebyshev, Vallée-Poussin, and Hadamard, in addition to Riemann himself.

Other mathematicians who worked in these areas include Lejeune Dirichlet, Lobachevsky, and Lobachevsky. Unknown Quantity: A Real and Imaginary History of Algebra was yet another popular mathematics book written by Joseph Henry Press’s Derbyshire series and published in 2006 by Joseph Henry Press. The 1972 martial arts film Way of the Dragon, which starred Bruce Lee and was directed by him, included Derbyshire in an uncredited role.

In the United States, the film was known as Return of the Dragon. Derbyshire stated the following regarding how he was cast for the role: “The casting director had evidently just trawled around the low-class guesthouses seeking unemployed foreigners of a sufficiently thuggish appearance.” In general, Derbyshire writes from the perspective of a conservative who favors a limited role in government.

In particular, he made fun of George W. Bush’s “itty-bitty tax cut, paid for by dumping a bunch of government debt on your children and grandchildren.” He also made fun of Bush for being too certain of his religious values and for being a “wealthy kid.” He has stated that it is unlikely that small-government conservatism will ever gain traction in the United States (although he is personally sympathetic to it), advocated for an immediate withdrawal of the United States from Iraq, opposed market reforms or any other changes to Social Security, advocated for legal access to abortion, supported euthanasia in a fairly wide range of circumstances, and suggested that he might vote for Hillary Clinton as president in a time of international crisis.

In his book titled “We Are Doomed,” Derbyshire made the following statement regarding the educational system in the United States: “Education is a great sea of lies, waste, corruption, lunatic theory, and careerist log-rolling.” He went on to say that people “had better brace themselves for the catastrophe” that was about to occur as a result of the situation.
