Kate A. Shaw Bio, Life, and Career:

Katie A. Shaw is a law professor at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University and a contributor to ABC News’ coverage of the Supreme Court, Kate Shaw is also a co-host of the podcast Strict Scrutiny. Religious studies and gender studies were Shaw’s areas of concentration at Brown University, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree with the highest honors. She then went on to earn her Juris Doctor magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. While she was there, she won the John Paul Stevens Award and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Northwestern University Law Review.

She is currently practicing law in the state of Illinois. After receiving his law degree from Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law in 2006, Shaw worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Richard A. Posner of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and then for the Honorable John Paul Stevens of the United States Supreme Court. During the time that Barack Obama was in office, Shaw was employed at the White House Counsel’s Office from 2009 until 2011. Since 2011, Shaw has been a member of the faculty at the Cardozo School of Law, where she teaches Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, and other courses on the topics of the Supreme Court, legislation, antitrust, and gender and reproductive rights.

She is a member of the National Task Force on Election Crises as well as the Administrative Conference of the United States (ACUS), which meets every four years.
