Key Glock Bio, Life, and Career:

Key Glock is the stage name of American rapper and composer Markeyvius LaShun Cathey, who was born on August 3, 1997. He hails from Memphis, Tennessee, and is known primarily by his birth name. Following in the footsteps of his mentor Young Dolph, he shot to stardom in 2017 with the release of his mixtape Glock Season. He is a member of the Paper Route Empire roster, which is owned by Young Dolph.

On August 3, 1997, Markeyvius LaShun Cathey was born in the neighborhood of South Memphis. His mother was arrested and sentenced to prison when he was just 20 months old; she would remain there for the next 15 years, serving time in both state and federal institutions. Because his father was rarely there in his childhood, his grandmother and his aunt took care of him while he was growing up.

Cathey claims that when he was younger, he and his grandmother would pay sporadic visits to his mother while she was incarcerated. As a result of his participation in a shooting, he was arrested and charged with three charges of aggravated assault while he was only 18 years old. Music served as an escape for him from the upheaval that frequently occurred in his life.

In 2017, Young Dolph brought Key Glock on board with the Paper Route Empire label as a new artist. On January 25 of that year, Glock released his debut single, which was titled “Racks Today” and featured American rapper Jay Fizzle. Glock made his debut with the label on June 16, 2017, with the release of his mixtape titled Glock Season. The album that he and Young Dolph worked on together, titled Dum & Dummer, debuted at number eight on the Billboard 200 chart. The song “Major” by Young Dolph and Key Glock has climbed all the way up to number 47 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

After the release of his album Dum & Dummer, which he created in collaboration with Young Dolph, he embarked on a tour of Europe, which included stops in Manchester and London. As a supporting act, the two individuals presented the British rapper Blade Brown. After that, the two went on and organized the “No Rules” Tour for the year 2020, which was scheduled to kick off on February 5 in Seattle.

Key Glock and Young Dolph released their single “Aspen” on March 5, 2021, and simultaneously announced the release of their second collaborative album, Dum & Dummer 2, which is scheduled to be released on March 26, 2021. It is a continuation of the 2019 comedy film Dum & Dummer. The cartoon artwork for this project makes reference to Beavis & Butthead.
