Korey Coleman Bio, Life, and Career:

Korey Coleman is a film reviewer, animator, filmmaker, voice actor, and comedian from the United States of America. He was born on September 9, 1971. He is most well-known for his film review website, Spill.com, which is no longer active, as well as for its current spiritual successor, Double Toasted. Korey Coleman was the youngest of three children to be born to Willie and Irma Coleman. As he grew up, he developed a passion for animation and attended the University of Texas in the hopes of majoring in filmmaking. However, he eventually left the university. However, while he was there, he met fellow artist and eventual co-host Martin Thomas, who showed interest in his comic strip Eddie the Albino Squirrel. Martin would later become his co-host.

While he was in school, C. H. Greenblatt, the eventual creator of Chowder, was one of his classmates. Greenblatt later worked as an assistant for him. Coleman went to the same high school as Russell Neal of the R&B group Hi-Five during their formative years. During the development of Space Jam and its subsequent making, Coleman also worked as an assistant animator. Because Warner Bros. required assistance in finishing the film, they decided to recruit an animation team that would include Korey. “When they engaged our company to perform the effects animation for the movie, I was prohibited from having any contact with the project.

However, there was a day when the team was running so far behind schedule that they asked me to do a single shadow of Tweety Bird, who in that specific scene is attached to an iron lung. I have a hunch that they were thinking something along the lines of “it’s easy enough that even he can’t mess it up.” Even though it probably only took me ten minutes to complete, my name was nonetheless included in the final credits of the movie. It was right beside the names of those who had spent weeks working on the movie.” Coleman reaffirmed that he was credited as an “assistant animator,” despite the fact that he admitted that he did not necessarily assist but rather contributed more work. He also refuted the assertion made by IMDb that he worked on the production of Quest for Camelot by making a joke and saying, “I’ve never gone to Camelot.”

Coleman devised and launched a series for cable access called The Reel Deal. It was on this show that he was able to get back in touch with Martin, as well as Chris Cox, C. Robert Cargill, and Tony Guerrero, three other reviewers. As a means of broadening his filmmaking abilities, Coleman had previously helmed the production of the movie 2 A.M., in which he also had a starring role. Coleman became disinterested in hosting an access program and concluded that the next logical step would be to broaden his scope of operation. Coleman added his own animated commentary on top of the pre-recorded audio of the reviewers’ previous comments for comedic effect.

Hollywood.com was able to watch the videos because Cox had uploaded them to the internet. Coleman established spill.com as a result of his interactions with the site’s administrators. The website was active from 2007 until 2013 when it concluded with a review of the film Saving Mr. Banks. After leaving, Cox established OneofUs.net; Cargill maintained his career as a screenwriter; and Tony resigned from podcasting to pursue a career in acting, making his debut in Alita: Battle Angel in the role of a henchman (although he does return for a few special occasions). Hollywood.com is the owner of the fictional persona known as Co-Host 3000.

Coleman made the decision to build a new website and a Kickstarter campaign. The starting point was $30,000, but by the time it was all said and done, they had earned $133,860. DoubleToasted originated from that point onward.  Even though Coleman does not practice any religion, he was brought up in a family that strongly believed in God. He recalls having to wait until he was 18 years old before finally telling his mother that he wasn’t attending church anymore. His mother’s response was “fine,” which she said in a hushed voice and with obvious disappointment. His father had a very authoritarian parenting style, and he was frequently required to help out in the car shop that the family-owned. Sometimes, his father would even make him perform duties that he was incapable of performing. He claimed that his father once instructed him to change a tire for a customer, but when he returned, he told his father that he was unable to do so since he had never learned how.
