Laura Swisher Bio, Life, and Career:

Laura Swisher is based in Los Angeles, California, and is best known for her work as co-host of the former TechTV programme Unscrewed with Martin Sargent from 2003 to 2004. Swisher has been doing comedy for over a decade. Swisher had a career as a stand-up comedian in Los Angeles before going to San Francisco and starting his career at TechTV.

She was a semi-finalist on the first season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing in 2003, which led to her earning appearances on television programmes such as Comedy Central’s Premium Blend and NBC’s Last Comic Standing.  In addition to her work as a stand-up comedian, she had an appearance on the Game Show Network programme Russian Roulette in the year 2002 as a contestant.

In addition, Swisher was featured in the music video for “Strange New Element” which was created by the band Low Water. She makes an appearance with other TechTV stars, including Cat Schwartz, Morgan Webb, Sarah Lane, Chi-Lan Lieu, and Sumi Das, towards the end of the video. Swisher co-hosted a podcast with comedian Louise Palanker under the title Weezy and the Swish for a period of two years, beginning in 2005 and continuing through 2007.

However, the show was cancelled in July 2007 due to Laura’s decreasing level of participation in the show after she moved to San Francisco.
