Lunay Bio, Life, and Career:

Lunay is the stage name of Jennifer Osorio Moreno, who was born on October 4, 2000, but is better known by his stage name. Lunay is a Puerto Rican singer and rapper. His singles “A Solas,” “Luz Apaga,” “Soltera,” and “Soltera (Remix)” propelled him to the forefront of the Latin and reggaeton music scenes, respectively. Epico, his first studio album, was released on October 25, 2019, by the artist.

His primary passions as a child were playing the drums and playing soccer. Osorio was able to discover his calling in music as a direct result of his participation in the sport of soccer. Motivated by the success that other singers in the urban genre in Latin America were having, he realized at an early age that he wanted to be a member of the urban genre.

When he was twelve years old, he started recording freestyle raps and uploading them to Facebook. He was known to improvise in front of his fellow soccer players, and numerous of his video have since gone popular on the internet. The attention of producers like Chris Jeday and Gaby Music was drawn to his freestyle raps.

In 2017, he entered the music industry more seriously by beginning to submit minor musical pieces on SoundCloud under the name “Jennifer.” This marked the beginning of his career as a musician. In 2017, he released “Aparentas,” which quickly racked up thousands of reproductions on this platform and caught the attention of Chris Jeday and Gaby Music, two of the most well-known producers in Puerto Rico.

The two record producers made touch with the young Puerto Rican and offered him a record deal. After accepting the deal and changing his stage name to Lunay in May of 2018, he released his debut album.

He debuted his single “Soltera” in March 2019, and it quickly racked up more than five million views on YouTube within the first five days of its availability. Another version of “Soltera” featuring Puerto Rican rappers Daddy Yankee and Bad Bunny was also reworked and released. Additionally, on August 5, 2020, he released a track titled “Top Gone” which featured a collaboration with American rapper Lil Mosey.

The track was included on the deluxe edition of “Certified Hitmaker,” which was the latter artist’s second studio album. Lunay has stated, in reference to his musical approach, that the songs he creates do not promote violence nor do they demean women.

In an interview that he granted to the top 40, he stated, “Not necessarily, even if I am in this world of urban music, do I have to be fostering violence, which is against the purpose that God has for the world.” I simply follow my whims, and I am confident in the connection that I have with Him. At the 2019 Premios Juventud, he was recognized as an artist “on the rise” and awarded the prize for it.
