Mackenzie Davis Bio, Life, and Career:

Mackenzie Rio Davis is a Canadian actress, producer, and model. She was born on April 1, 1987, in Canada. Her first role in a major film was in the 2012 movie “Smashed.” She had roles in the films Breathe In and The F Word in 2013, the latter of which earned her a nomination for the Canadian Screen Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress. In addition, she had roles in the films The Martian (2015), Blade Runner 2049 (2017), and Happiest Season (2020).

Davis was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, to parents Lotte Davis, a British graphic designer originally from South Africa, and John Davis, a hairdresser originally from Liverpool, England.  Her parents are the owners of AG Hair. After receiving her diploma from Collingwood School in West Vancouver in 2005, she went on to study at McGill University in Montreal, which is located in the province of Quebec. After that, she attended the Neighbourhood Playhouse in New York City to pursue a career in acting.

Davis played the role of computer programmer Cameron Howe in the AMC television series Halt and Catch Fire from 2014 through 2017. She also appeared in the episode “San Junipero” of the television series Black Mirror, for which she gained recognition from the media. In the film Terminator: Dark Fate, which was released in 2019, she played the role of Grace, an upgraded super-soldier, opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton.
