Maddox Bio, Life and Career:

Maddox whose real name is George Ouzounian and who was born on March 27, 1978, in the United States, is a blogger, podcaster, and author. Early in the new millennium, he rose to prominence on the Internet as a result of his opinion-focused website known as The Best Page in the Universe, which he continues to run. The Alphabet of Manliness, which he published for the first time in 2006, quickly became a best seller on the New York Times bestseller list. He attended the University of Utah but did not earn a degree there. He received his high school diploma from Woods Cross High School, which is located in Woods Cross, Utah. 1997 marked the beginning of Maddox’s work on “The Best Page in the Universe”.

The 1987 original video animation Metal Skin Panic MADOX-01 was where he got the inspiration for his pen name.  The vast majority of the posts are comedic or satirical in nature. In 2006, Maddox stated that the earnings from the website’s online store were sufficient for him to “stay above water.” It has been reported that Maddox worked for a telemarketing company as a programmer up until the year 2004. Maddox made an appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con on June 6, 2006, bringing his comic book with him called The Best Comic in the Universe. In 2014, Maddox and Dax Herrera came up with the idea of hosting a weekly podcast under the name The Biggest Problem in the Universe (better known as “Dick Masterson”). The format of the show consisted of each of the co-hosts discussing a problem and then asking the audience to vote on which solution they thought was best. On May 31, 2016, the podcast transmitted its very last episode. Because of this, Maddox established a brand new podcast network that he calls Madcast Media.  The pilot episode of the show titled “The Best Debate in the Universe” features debates in which Maddox argues both for and against a particular position on an issue.

In November of 2017, Maddox filed a harassment lawsuit in the amount of $372 million with the New York Supreme Court against Masterson, individuals at Patreon, and Weber Shandwick copywriter Asterios Kokkinos. Kokkinos appeared as a guest on both The Biggest Problem in the Universe and The Dick Show. Maddox’s lawsuit names Masterson as one of the defendants. The plaintiffs, Maddox, and his girlfriend, who is not named in the lawsuit, accused the defendants of launching a trolling campaign against them, which resulted in death threats, rape threats, racial slurs, and the loss of sponsorship. Maddox and his girlfriend are not named in the lawsuit.

Along with targeted advertisements on Facebook and Reddit, they pointed to an album released by Kokkinos and a billboard contest organized by Masterson that both attempted to make fun of Maddox.  Both Masterson and a representative for Shandwick have stated that they intend to contest the claims that are being made in the lawsuit, and Masterson has denied the allegations.  On May 16, 2018, Judge Charles Ramos dismissed the claims against all defendants, arguing that the claims against Masterson should have been filed in the jurisdiction of California instead of the other jurisdictions.

This complaint is such a mess that I can’t address these issues because I can’t specifically point to what’s being alleged as against your client or your client,” Ramos said in reference to the allegations made against Asterios Kokkinos. He was frustrated with the poor drafting of the complaint and its lack of specific evidence. After stating that they were named in the suit “just because someone used their equipment,” Ramos completely and irrevocably dismissed the claims that were brought against Weber Shandwick.
