Michael Bernard Beckwith is a minister of New Thought, an author, and the founder as well as the spiritual director of the Agape International Spiritual Center, which is located in Beverly Hills, California. Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith, one of the most influential ministers in the New Thought movement, was born in 1956. He is married to Rickie Byars Beckwith, who is also a prominent figure in the New Thought movement.

Beckwith was apprehended as a juvenile in southern California for being in possession of illegal substances. During his time behind bars, he immersed himself in spiritual literature. He was, thankfully, let go without any charges being brought against him. Despite this, the event served as the impetus for him to make a commitment to lead a life that was spiritually meaningful.

After completing his studies at a seminary for ministers, he submitted his application to become the senior minister of a spiritual community in Orange County.
