Nathaniel J. Potvin Bio, Life, and Career:
Nathaniel James Potvin is a well-known hip-hop dancer and actor in the United States. The role of Ryan Walker, which he played on the Disney XD and Disney Channel show “Mech-X4”, brought him the most fame. Although he had been dancing ever since he could remember, it wasn’t until he was 11 years old that he took his first acting class.
Prior to that, he had always been more of a dancer. Later on, he decided to try his hand at acting and enrolled in a class at the same studio where he had previously received dancing instruction.
There, he was eventually discovered by the talent manager who now represents him. In the indie short film titled ‘Palms’ that he debuted in the following year (2012), he gave the performance of a man whose name was Solomon Dorsey. After then, Potvin made a number of cameo appearances on television shows such as “The Middle,” “The Haunted Hathaways,” “Love That Girl!,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” and “Girl Meets World.”
In 2016, he was given the role of Ryan Walker, the protagonist of the film ‘Mech-X4’, a technopath who acts as the pilot of the titular machine. Nathaniel Potvin was taking classes at Dance Dimensions when he was approached by a talent manager who immediately recognized his ability and expressed interest in seeing him perform on the big screen.
After initially signing with Norwood Talent Agency, Potvin later changed her representation to McDonald Selznick Associates (MSA) for dance and Abrams for film and commercial work. In the Back-to-School Campaign for Target, he made his debut in the professional world not only as a dancer but also as an actor. After he and three other students from Dance Dimensions auditioned together as a group, they were given the opportunity to participate.
His subsequent role was in an independent short film directed by Deep Williams titled “Palms” (2012). In this film, he played the central protagonist, Solomon Dorsey, who was a foster boy who moved from home to home.
In an episode of the TV One sitcom ‘Belle’s’ (2012), Potvin appeared as a guest star in the role of Jimmy Barnes. The year after that, he was given the opportunity to make an appearance on the popular sitcom ‘The Middle that airs on ABC. After that, he was cast in a part in the television movie “Twist of Faith.”
Potvin, who played the role of Asher Jones in the telefilm, collaborated on the project with Toni Braxton and David Julian Hirsh. In addition, he appeared in the 2013 short film titled “Different,” which was directed by Danny Hernandez.
In 2015, he had guest appearances in five different TV programs, and in each of those shows, he played a supporting part. He is most known for his roles as Billy in Nickelodeon’s “The Haunted Hathaways,” Jalen in TVNZ 1’s “Love That Girl!”, Shane in Disney Channel’s “Jessie,” Young Tyson Briggs in CBS’s “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” and a character credited as the Academic Top Half in Disney’s “Girl Meets World.” In 2015, he directed and produced two short films for television: “Table 58” and “The Massively Mixed-Up Middle School Mystery.”
Potvin received widespread recognition for his performance as Ryan Walker in the science fiction adventure comedy ‘Mech-X4’ produced by Disney. The series debuted on November 11, 2016, to great reviews from both reviewers and fans alike.
It was created by Steve Marmel, whose earlier works include “The Fairly Odd Parents,” “I Am Weasel,” “Danny Phantom,” “Family Guy,” and “Yin Yang Yo!” It was picked up for a second season, which began airing on September 9, 2017, after receiving a renewal for the same.
In 2017, he made his first appearance on the big screen in the fantastical adventure film titled “A World Away.” On the 2018 season of ‘Alexa & Katie’ on Netflix, he is now starring as the recurrent character Ryan. Potvin is scheduled to make an appearance in the drama series ‘Five Points,’ which is produced by Facebook. When he was 11 years old, he made his debut on the stage as an actor.
Potvin wanted to enroll in the dancing class that was being offered as part of a summer enrichment program for children that was being conducted by a college in their area. The program’s prerequisites included the completion of two classes. Potvin and his mother went to see the counselor who was in charge of the program in her office. Once there, Potvin started crying and told the counselor that he did not want to enroll in a second class.
She turned to his mother and said, “He’s crying so much we might as well put him in drama.” His mother nodded and agreed. After getting his mother’s approval, he started going to classes. He had a great time participating in the student play, in which he took on the role of the lead character.
Since he was a young boy, Potvin had been attending the Dance Dimensions Performing Arts Center in order to further his dance training. He was a member of a hip-hop team that was victorious in a number of contests.
Following his participation in the summer enrichment program’s theatre class, he developed a passion for performance that has continued to grow since then. Therefore, when Dance Dimensions began providing acting classes, I enrolled in them. Potvin seized the chance when it presented itself. It was in this place that he first interacted with his talent manager.
