Phoebe Bridgers Bio, Life, and Career:
Phoebe Lucille Bridgers is a well-known American singer and songwriter. She was born on August 17, 1994. Her brand of indie folk music is characterized by its use of melancholy lyrical themes and production that is heavily influenced by electronic instruments. She is up for four Grammy Awards, including one for “Best New Artist,” which she has received. Bridgers began her musical career at a young age and was a member of the band Sloppy Jane.
She was born in Pasadena, California. She released her first solo album, Stranger in the Alps, in 2017, and then followed it up with Punisher in 2020; both of these albums were met with praise from music critics. She is also a member of the supergroup Boygenius, with whom she has released one self-titled EP and one LP, as well as Better Oblivion Community Center, with whom she has released one self-titled album.
Both of these projects have been released independently. She has worked with a wide range of musicians, including Taylor Swift, SZA, Kid Cudi, 1975, Christian Lee Hutson, and The National. She is a frequent collaborator. Bridgers is an advocate for progressive political ideals and has raised money and awareness for a wide variety of causes.
On August 17, 1994, Phoebe Lucille Bridgers made her debut into the world in Pasadena, California. Her mother, Jamie, is active in the real estate industry and performs stand-up comedy, while her father worked as a set builder in the film and television industries. Jackson is her younger brother’s name, and he is her only sibling. When she was 19 years old, her parents finalized their divorce.
Although she was born and reared in Pasadena, she had part of her formative years in the city of Ukiah in California. When she was younger, she performed as a street performer at the Pasadena Farmers Market, and she picked up the guitar when she was around 13 years old.at 2009, after receiving her diploma from Sequoyah School, she enrolled at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts to begin her studies in vocal jazz.
Later on, she applied to and was accepted into the Berklee College of Music in Boston; however, she did not continue her studies after the orientation. Bridgers was part of a number of bands while he was still in high school, including Einstein’s Dirty Secret and Sloppy Jane. In addition, Bridgers frequently performed as a solo act at various venues all throughout the Los Angeles area. After making the decision to forego attending college in order to concentrate on her profession, she began to make a name for herself in the L.A. music scene.
This led to her making friends with producer Tony Berg, who offered to work with her for free on her first album. Because she had gained some financial stability as a result of playing in an Apple commercial with Sloppy Jane, she intended to finish her record and then sell it to a label, rather than aiming to get signed first. Sloppy Jane also appeared in the commercial.
Because of this, she had a lot more time on her hands and was free to express her creativity when writing “Stranger in the Alps.” Around this time, Bridgers met American singer-songwriter Ryan Adams through mutual colleagues, and he put out her EP “Killer” on his label PAX AM.
Bridgers is credited as having co-written two of Adams’ songs. Additionally, Bridgers served as Julien Baker’s opening act for her 2016 tour of the East Coast. Bridgers came out with their single “Smoke Signals” in January of 2017, the same month that they opened for Conor Oberst on his tour across Europe. The two had first spoken to one another during the previous summer at a hidden showcase held at the Bootleg Theater in Los Angeles and arranged by Oberst.
Both he and his bandmate in Bright Eyes, Mike Mogis, provided vocals and production work on the album Stranger in the Alps. Before performing at South by Southwest in March 2017, Bridgers opened for both The Joy Formidable and Ryan Adams on specific dates during their separate 2017 tours across the United States. Bridgers became a member of the independent record label Dead Oceans in June 2017.
In 2014, Bridgers began a romantic connection with Ryan Adams, an American musician, when she was approximately 20 years old and he was approximately 40 years old. They parted ways at an undetermined point in time. Her song “Motion Sickness” is all about how they felt about each other. According to a piece published by The New York Times in 2019, Bridgers and six other women accused Adams of emotionally abusing them.
Later on, Bridgers dated American musician Marshall Vore, who currently serves as her touring drummer and has worked with her on other projects, until 2017. The two of them co-wrote her single “ICU” about their relationship, and they continue to work together and be friends. Bridgers was in a relationship with the Irish actor Paul Mescal from the year 2020 till the year 2022.
