Renee O’Connor Bio, Life, and Career:

Evelyn Renee O’Connor was born on 15 February 1971. Known for her portrayal as Gabrielle on the television series Xena: Warrior Princess,  is an American actress, producer, and director. Born in Houston and raised by her mother Sandra in suburban Katy, Texas, O’Connor pursued acting at the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas, at the age of 12. She attended Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston and debuted as a performing Porky Pig at Six Flags AstroWorld. She then relocated to Los Angeles, California, to pursue a vocation in acting.

She made her screen début at the age of 17, starring in the “Teen Angel” segment of The Mickey Mouse Club on the Disney Channel and the subsequent Teen Angel television series. She went on to appear in The Adventures of Huck Finn, a Disney film, as well as television features such as Follow the River, Danielle Steele’s Changes, and Hercules and the Lost Kingdom, starring Kevin Sorbo.

There, in the role of Deianeira, she caught the attention of Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi, who placed her as Gabrielle in the spin-off television series Xena: Warrior Princess.

O’Connor founded her own film production company, Roc Productions, in 2001. She portrayed Lady Macbeth in the Shakespeare by the Sea production of Macbeth the following year. From October 11 to November 3, 2019, she reprised the role in a House of Bards Theatre Company production in San Pedro, California.

In the May 10–13, 2018 production of Romeo and Juliet by the Southern Shakespeare Company, she portrayed Nurse alongside her 16-year-old son, Miles Muir. O’Connor began courting restaurateur Steve Muir in 1998. The pair wed in 2000, and O’Connor gave birth to a son in 2001. In 2004, O’Connor and Muir divorced. O’Connor began dating Jed Sura in 2004 and gave birth to a daughter in March 2006. In 2017, O’Connor and Sura were wed.
