He is the brother of Bonnie and Terry Glenn, who are his sisters. He began his education in a high school in Pittsburgh and went on to earn his degree in English from The College of William & Mary. It was in 1968 when the couple tied the knot. Rio and Dakota are the names of the couple’s two daughters.

Scott Glenn is a well-known American actor who has been in a number of films, including “Urban Cowboy,” “Silverado,” “The Right Stuff,” “The Hunt for Red October,” and “The Bourne Ultimatum.” His appearances in these films earned him acclaim. Additionally, he is well-known for his roles as Kevin Garvey, Sr. in the supernatural drama series ‘The Leftovers and as Stick in the web television series ‘Daredevil’ and ‘The Defenders’. Both of these roles brought him a great deal of attention.

After graduating from The College of William & Mary, Glenn enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and went on to serve his country. After working as a reporter for a short period of time, he decided to pursue his lifelong ambition of becoming a novelist and enrolled in acting school in order to polish his talents in the art of dialogue writing. Instead of becoming a pilot, Glenn decided to pursue a career in acting and made his debut on Broadway in 1965 in the play “The Impossible Years.”

After that, he joined The Actors Studio and began his career in professional theater and television, appearing in a wide variety of plays and shows that have remained in people’s memories. He is primarily recognized for playing tough characters, particularly those with a military history. On a more personal level, Glenn became a Jew after marrying Carol Schwartz in 1968, marking the beginning of his religious journey.

‘The Patty Duke Show’ and ‘Hawk’ were two of the earliest television ventures that featured Scott Glenn. Both aired in the 1960s. It was in the 1970 drama film ‘The Baby Maker’ that he made his first appearance on film, playing the role of Tad Jacks. An epic war film on the Vietnam War that was released in 1979 under the title ‘Apocalypse Now’ featured him in the character of Captain Richard M. Colby. The next year, the actor appeared in the romantic drama film ‘Urban Cowboy’ playing the role of Wes Hightower. In the early 1980s, he was in the films “The Challenge,” “The Right Stuff,” and “The Keep,” playing supporting roles in each of those films.

In 1984, Glenn starred as Michael Boyle in the made-for-television film ‘Countdown to Looking Glass,’ which presented a fictitious conflict between the United States and the Soviet Union over the Strait of Hormuz. Glenn’s role in the film was based on his real-life experience. In the same year, he also appeared in Mark Rydell’s film ‘The River’, in which he shared the screen with Mel Gibson and Sissy Spacek. The next year, 1985, saw the release of both “Wild Geese II” and “Silverado,” both of which featured the actor in starring roles.

In the 1990s, Glenn achieved even more popularity thanks to his roles in the critically acclaimed films “The Hunt for Red October,” “The Silence of the Lambs,” “Backdraft,” and “The Player.” After 1995, he began to take on increasingly difficult characters in films, such as “Reckless” and the tragicomedy “Edie & Pen.” It was with his work in the military movie “Courage Under Fire” and the political thriller “Absolute Power” that he brought the decade to a close. In the first year of the new decade, Glenn appeared in the suspense film “Training Day” in a supporting role. After that, in 2003, he was a guest on two separate episodes of ‘American Experience’.

In the action thriller film ‘The Bourne Ultimatum,’ which was released four years later, he was cast in the role of Ezra Kramer, Director of the CIA. After appearing in the psychological fantasy film “Sucker Punch,” he went on to play the character of Ezra Kramer in the film “The Bourne Legacy,” which was released in 2012. The actor plays the role of Kevin Garvey, Sr. in the supernatural drama series ‘The Leftovers from 2014 to 2017.
