Sia Bio, Life, and Career:

Sia Kate Isobelle Furler is a well-known Australian singer and composer. She was born on the 18th of December 1975 in Australia. She was born and raised in Adelaide, and she began her professional singing career in the mid-1990s as a member of the acid jazz band Crisp. OnlySee was her first solo studio album, and it was released in Australia in 1997, the same year that Crisp broke up. She relocated to London and started singing for the British duo Zero 7 once she graduated. Healing Is Difficult was Sia’s second studio album, which she published in 2001, and Colour the Little One was her third studio album, which she released in 2004.

After relocating to New York City in 2005, Sia embarked on a tour around the United States. Both of her fourth and fifth studio albums, Some People Have Serious Issues and We Are Born, were released in 2008 and 2010, respectively. Both of these albums were certified gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association and gained more attention than her earlier albums did. Sia took a break from performing in order to concentrate on creating songs for other artists when she became uneasy with the increasing prominence of her career. During this time, she produced the popular collaborations “Titanium” (with David Guetta), “Diamonds” (with Rihanna), and “Wild Ones” (with Flo Rida).

Sia Kate Isobelle Furler was born on December 18th, 1975 in the city of Adelaide, which is located in the state of South Australia.  Her mother, Loene Furler, is an art lecturer, while her father, Phil Colson, is a musician. She takes after both of her parents in this regard.  The actor Kevin Colson is her uncle, and she is his niece.  She mentioned that when she was younger, she tried to replicate the performance styles of Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and Sting, all of whom she considers to be early influences.

She received her secondary education at Adelaide High School. In the middle of the 1990s, Sia began her professional singing career as a member of the neighborhood acid jazz band Crisp.  Sia worked with the band and provided vocal contributions to their album Word and the Deal (1996) as well as their EP Delirium (1997).  In the year 1997, Crisp disbanded, and on December 23 of that same year, Sia released her first studio album, titled OnlySee, on Flavoured Records in Australia.

There were around 1,200 albums purchased by customers.  Unlike her other albums, OnlySee was released under Sia Furler’s full name for the album’s marketing. Jesse Flavell was the in charge of the production. With the dissolution of Crisp in 1997, Sia relocated to London, where she worked as a backing vocalist for the band Jamiroquai.  She also contributed vocals to the English downtempo band Zero 7’s first three studio albums and went on tour with the band.  Sia contributed vocals to two tracks on Zero 7’s album Simple Things, released in 2001. One of those tunes was the single “Destiny,” which reached a top position of No. 30 on the UK Singles Chart.  She contributed vocals to the songs “Somersault” and “Speed Dial No. 2” by Zero 7 in the year 2004. (from the album When It Falls).

Sia worked with Zero 7 on their third album, titled The Garden, which was released in 2006. In the year 2000, Sia got a recording contract with the sub-label Dance Pool of Sony Music. The following year, she released her debut single, titled “Taken for Granted,” which reached position No. 10 on the UK Singles Chart. In 2001, she released her second solo album under her own name titled Healing Is Difficult. The album is a fusion of vintage jazz and soul music, and the lyrics depict Sia’s process of coping with the loss of her first love affair. Sia dismissed her management, quit Sony Music, and signed a recording contract with Go! Beat, a division of Universal Music Group, because she was unhappy with the way the album was promoted (UMG).

In 2002, Sia took up the Breakout Songwriter trophy at the APRA Awards, sharing the honor with Jennifer Waite and Grant Wallis, members of the pop duet Aneiki from Brisbane. Sia issued her third full-length studio album, titled Colour the Little One, in the year 2004.  The background to her material on the album is provided by a combination of electronic and acoustic instruments. The album resulted in the release of four singles, two of which were titled “Don’t Bring Me Down” and “Breathe Me.” The latter of these songs charted in the United Kingdom, Denmark, and France, respectively.

Sia moved to New York City in 2005 after being dissatisfied with the inadequate marketing of her last album, Colour the Little One, as well as the album’s inability to connect with a mass audience. Around that time, “Breathe Me” was featured in the closing scene of the American television series Six Feet Under, which aired on HBO in the United States. This helped expand Sia’s popularity in the United States. As a consequence of this, David Enthoven, Sia’s manager, organized a tour across the country so that she could continue pursuing a career in music.
