Stephen A. Smith is a well-known American sports journalist who also works as a television and radio broadcaster. He is perhaps best recognized for his work as a commentator on the sports commentary show ‘First Take’, which is broadcast on ESPN. Although he was born in the Bronx, he spent his childhood in Hollis, New York, and attended Thomas Edison High School for his senior year of high school. After finishing high school, he enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Technology, but he only stayed there for a year before transferring to Winston-Salem State University.

During that time, he was unsuccessful in his academic pursuits. He began his career as a sports journalist while he was attending the university, and he wrote for a publication called The News Argust, which was the university newspaper.
