Tom Grennan Bio, Life, and Career:

Thomas Grennan is a singer and composer who was born in England on 8 June 1995 and hails from Bedford. He currently resides in London. Grennan rose to prominence in 2016 after appearing as a guest vocalist on “All Goes Wrong” by Chase & Status. Lighting Matches, the artist’s debut studio album, was released in July 2018. The album “Found What I’ve Been Looking For” was released as a single from it, and it reached number five on the Albums Chart in the UK.

Evering Road, his second album, was released in March of 2021. It marked the beginning of his breakthrough in the UK by debuting at number one on the UK Albums Chart. The album featured several commercially successful singles, including “This Is the Place,” “Little Bit of Love,” “Let’s Go Home Together” with Ella Henderson, and “Don’t Break the Heart.” Additionally, he was featured as a guest vocalist on the top-ten singles “By Your Side” with Calvin Harris and “Not Over Yet” with KSI in the years 2021 and 2022.

Grennan was born into a family with Irish ancestry. He received his secondary education at St. Thomas More in Bedford. After being assaulted in the street when he was 18 years old, he was left with four metal plates and screws in his jaw, which “still hurt when winter comes.” He pursued a career as a professional footballer, spending some time playing for Luton Town and also trying out for Northampton Town and Aston Villa; nevertheless, he was eventually let go from all three teams. Grennan is a die-hard fan of the football team Coventry City. Additionally, he had a brief stint working at Costa Coffee. According to what he said in an interview with Music Week, “I was close to playing over in the States but something was telling me not to, and obviously it was the music.”

Grennan’s early musical experiences are shrouded in mystery; nevertheless, he claims that he first performed publicly at a house party, where he sang “Seaside” by The Kooks. Even though he did not recall it, his buddies thought it was impressive and encouraged him to perform more often. He attended St. Mary’s University in Twickenham for his acting training. At the age of 18, he began performing around London with his acoustic guitar, primarily making appearances in local pubs for the subsequent nearly three years.

Following his set at the Finsbury pub, a representative from Insanity Records came to listen to him play and eventually offered him a recording contract. Charlie Hugall was the producer of Grennan’s first extended play, titled Something in the Water. The song “All Goes Wrong” by Chase & Status, on which he was featured in 2016, was chosen as the “Hottest Record” on Annie Mac’s show on Radio 1. This was the beginning of his career as a recording artist. As a direct result of this, he was invited to make an appearance on the station’s Live Lounge, as well as a subsequent appearance on the television program that airs on BBC Two. Jools Holland will be joining us later. The song reached its highest position on the Singles Chart in the UK at number 65.

Grennan was selected as one of the finalists for the MTV Brand New Award in February of 2017, and he also gave a performance at the MTV Showcase held in London’s Electric Ballroom. During the same year, he made a cameo appearance in the music video for Charli XCX’s song “Boys,” performing with a number of well-known artists, and he duetted with grime MC Bugzy Malone on the song “Memory Lane.” During the F1 Live in London show, which took place in Trafalgar Square, Grennan gave a performance in support of the Formula One driver.

In March 2018, he began touring the United Kingdom in support of his debut album, Lighting Matches, which was eventually released in July of that same year. His song “Found What I’ve Been Looking For” was featured on the soundtrack for FIFA 18, and Sky Sports also used it as the theme song for Super Sunday and RBI19 Baseball. Grennan released the first song “This is the Place” from his second album Evering Road in January 2020. In the same year, he released two more songs titled “Oh Please” and “Amen” after this. January 2021 saw the release of his fourth single, “Little Bit of Love,” which was taken from his album of the same name. Grennan was able to get his first top-ten single in the UK as a result of the success of this song, which peaked at number seven on the UK Singles Chart.

The song has been certified as Platinum by the BPI and has racked up more than one million chart sales in the United Kingdom. It is also charting in other countries around Europe. Later, in March 2021, Evering Road was made available to the public. It debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and went on to receive a Gold certification later. After that, he had another hit in the top 10 with “Let’s Go Home Together,” which was a collaboration with Ella Henderson and was also certified Platinum in the UK.

After this, Grennan released “By Your Side,” a duet with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris. The song debuted in the top ten of the UK Singles Chart and won Grennan his third consecutive Platinum certification.
