Travis Fimmel Bio, Life, and Career:
Travis Fimmel was born on July 15, 1979, in the general vicinity of Echuca, which is located in the state of Victoria in Australia. He spent his childhood in Lockington, Ohio, on a dairy farm. His mother, Jennie, is a recreation officer for the disabled, and his father, Chris, is a cattle farmer. He is the youngest of their three sons. At the age of 17, he moved to Melbourne to try out for the St. Kilda Football Club, which competes in the Australian Football League. His goal was to become a professional football player.
There, he attended RMIT University and majored in project management. His dreams of pursuing a career in football were dashed, however, not long after the incident, when he suffered an injury that resulted in a broken leg. After that, he left RMIT University in order to embark on a journey throughout the world. A talent scout for Chadwick Models agency discovered Travis Fimmel as he was working out at a gym in the Melbourne district of Hawthorn. This was the beginning of Fimmel’s career as a model.
Soon after, he uprooted his life and came to the United States to follow his dream. In 2002, Travis strolled into the office of LA Models while destitute and shoeless, and he was immediately signed to the agency. After that, he got a deal worth six figures to model solely for Calvin Klein for a period of one year. He was featured in the advertising campaign for CK’s Crave men’s cologne as well as the brand’s iconic underwear. It did not take the handsome young man very long at all to work his way up to become the most sought-after male model in the entire globe. In 2002, People magazine in the United States recognized him as one of the most eligible bachelors in the world. He was featured on the front cover of a number of magazines, including “Numero Homme” in France and “TV Guide” in the United States.
In 2003, he made guest appearances on a number of popular television programs in the United States, including “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee,” “The Sharon Osbourne Show,” “Total Request Live” on MTV, and “Extra,” an entertainment television news program. In addition, he was in the music video clip for Janet Jackson’s song “Someone to Call My Lover” and the music video for Jennifer Lopez’s song “I’m Real.” He was already a successful model when he made the decision to also seek a career in acting. He took acting classes with Ivana Chubbuck and eventually earned the lead role in the 2003 Warner Bros. television series “Tarzan,” in which he performed the majority of his own stunts. In the years that followed, he appeared on both smaller and larger screens playing a wide variety of roles in various productions.
In 2005, he co-starred with Lauren Holly in the film “Rocky Point,” and the following year, in 2006, he acted alongside Madeleine Stowe in the Fox film “Southern Comfort.” In the 2008 film “Restraint,” he played the role of a murderer, and in the 2011 film “Surfer, Dude,” he co-starred alongside Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as a party kid. In the year 2010, he portrayed a kind-hearted cowboy in the movie “Pure Country 2: The Gift” and a forensic photographer in the Australian horror film “Needle,” in which he starred with Ben Mendelsohn.
In the 2010 Montreal World Film Festival and the Strasbourg International Film Festival, the indie film ‘Ivory’ starring Travis Fimmel as a classical pianist was an official selection. Travis Fimmel is a well-known Australian actor who first gained recognition for his roles in the television series “The Beast” and the film “Warcraft.” Fimmel is also a former model. When he was a younger guy, he couldn’t decide what line of work he wanted to get into. However, after spending some time traveling in Europe and Asia, he came to the conclusion that acting was his true calling. He then moved to Los Angeles in order to pursue a career in acting.
Soon after he was found by a modeling agency, the gorgeous man with emerald eyes began making appearances in music videos for Jennifer Lopez and Janet Jackson. Although he has been in advertisements for Gap and L’Oreal, the high-profile ad campaign that he did for Calvin Klein is what brought him international fame. Travis had to put in a lot of hard work over the course of many years until he was finally rewarded for all of his efforts when he was cast as a co-star alongside the late Patrick Swayze in the television series “The Beast.”
He is most known for his roles as Ragnar Lothbrok in the series ‘Vikings’ on the History Channel and Anduin Lothar in the film ‘Warcraft.’ In the television series “Tarzan,” which was produced by Laura Ziskin, Travis also portrayed the starring character of John Clayton. Both his supporting part as Johnny Doran in the Anchor Bay Entertainment film “Surfer, Dude” alongside Matthew McConaughey and his role in the indie feature film “The Baytown Outlaws” gained him critical acclaim.
