Willam Belli Bio, Life, and Career:

Willam Belli, also known simply as Willam, was born in the United States on June 30, 1982, and is a drag queen, actor, singer-songwriter, reality television personality, author, and YouTuber. He is also known by his mononym, Willam. Willam first came to public attention in 2012 when she competed on the fourth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. However, she was eliminated from the competition during the “Frenemies” challenge. Willam had a career in the entertainment industry before to starring on RuPaul’s Drag Race. He is perhaps best known for his recurring role as the transgender woman Cherry Peck in Ryan Murphy’s medical drama Nip/Tuck. She has continued to perform in a variety of films, television shows, and online series, often in drag. In 2018, she had a role in the movie “A Star Is Born,” which received positive reviews from critics.

She was considered for a nomination for a Daytime Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Digital Daytime Drama Series because of her work on the web series EastSiders, which is a dark comedy.  Since 2012, Willam has released three albums of comedy music, most of which are parodies of popular songs from throughout history. Her second album, Shartistry in Motion, arrived at number one on the Billboard Comedy Albums chart. She released a number of songs as a member of the group DWV (with drag queens Vicky Vox and Detox) during the years 2012 and 2014.

These songs include the parodies “Chow Down” and “Boy Is a Bottom,” the music videos for which became popular on the internet. Following the dissolution of DWV, Willam joined forces with Courtney Act and Alaska Thunderfuck to form a new drag supergroup known as the AAA Girls. Willam Belli’s birthplace is the city of Philadelphia. He is the younger of the two kids in the family. According to Belli, his ancestry includes both Yugoslavia and Italy.  He attended middle school and high school in Florida where he had been living. The Kennedy Space Center was where Belli’s father worked for a while. His aunt is the director Mary Lou Belli, who works in television.

The most recent time that Belli has reiterated her position is in an interview that took place in February 2019 with YouTuber Joseph Shepherd. In the interview, Belli asserts that the so-called’ official reason was just a fabrication by the creators of the show in order to portray a more palatable scenario of Belli’s departure from the show. Belli’s departure from the show was a result of an eating disorder. During that interview, William asserted that the real cause for his elimination from the competition was due to the growing animosity and problems between the candidates and the production staff.

Willam claims that many of the crew members were rude and condescending towards the drag queens in general, with some of the crew members not even bothering to try to learn the contestants’ names. He gives the example of a crew member repeatedly calling season 4 fellow contestant Latrice Royale – “La-something,” despite the fact that all of the crew had cards with the photographs of the queens/contestants (in and out of drag) worn around their necks. These cards included photographs of the queens As a result of this, the queens began to accuse certain members of the staff, as well as their poor attitudes and certain interactions between cast and crew, of being racist.

Belli was obese when he was a child, but he shed additional weight by switching to a vegetarian diet in the years leading up to his emancipation at the age of 16.  Belli met his husband, Bruce, at nineteen. On September 9, 2008, they exchanged wedding vows. His first television appearance was on an episode of the quiz program Street Smarts, and his first acting credit was for the role of a street hustler named Bart Jaker in two episodes of The District (2002).  After that, he made guest appearances on the television shows Boston Public, Cold Case, The Shield, My Name Is Earl, and, most notably, Nip/Tuck, playing the transgender character Cherry Peck in all of those shows. Later on in the 2000s, he would go on to appear in a variety of guest appearances on various television shows.

In addition, he had a supporting part in the movie American Wedding. Belli was featured on the single artwork for “Breakin’ Up” by Rilo Kiley in the year 2008. The song was released that year. In addition, Austin Young was the photographer for the photographs that he took of him while he was modeling during the Tranimal Master Class Workshop at the Machine Project. Tranzkuntinental is a band that debuted for the first time in 2009 at The Roxy, and Belli is a member of the band. Drag queens Detox, Kelly Mantle, Rhea Litré, and Vicky Vox are members of the band, which was founded by Charlie Paulson and Xander Smith and also features Kelly Mantle.

In January 2011, he was one of the backup dancers featured in Rihanna’s music video for the song “S&M,” which also starred Detox and Morgan McMichaels. Willam’s manager was contacted by World of Wonder and asked to have him try out for the upcoming season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.  In the month of November 2011, Logo TV made the announcement that Belli would be one of the 13 competitors taking part in the fourth season. Chad Michaels, a member of the same cast as Belli, was one of Belli’s competitors in the California Entertainer of the Year Pageant back in 2010.

In the episodes “Float Your Boat” and “Frenemies,” Belli was victorious in the primary challenges, although she was eliminated from the competition in the latter episode. In the episode titled “Reunited,” Belli explained that the reason he was disqualified from the competition was that his husband paid him sexual visits in his hotel room. However, according to Belli’s narrative, in the years that have passed since the broadcast of season 4, Willam has disproved the “official tale” in several interviews.
