50 Cent Bio, Life, and Career:

Curtis James Jackson III, better known by his stage name 50 Cent, is an American rapper, actor, television producer, and businessman. He was born on July 6, 1975, and his professional name is 50 Cent. Jackson was born in the South Jamaica district of Queens, and he started pursuing a career in music in the year 2000 when he produced Power of the Dollar for Columbia Records. Unfortunately, he was shot just a few days before the album was scheduled to be published, therefore the record was never released.

50 Cent was founded by Eminem and signed to Shady Records in 2002, shortly after the release of the mixtape Guess Who’s Back? 50 Cent is currently signed to Shady Records, which is overseen by Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records. Get Rich or Die Tryin’ (The Album), which he released on a major label for the first time in 2003, was an enormous commercial success. The album was awarded a certification of nine times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

It is known for producing the number-one singles “In da Club” and “21 Questions” (with Nate Dogg) on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Before becoming the de facto leader of the East Coast hip-hop group G-Unit, he established G-Unit Records in the same year and signed his fellow G-Unit members Young Buck, Lloyd Banks, and Tony Yayo.

The Massacre (2005), which was 50 Cent’s second studio album and featured the hit “Candy Shop” (with Olivia), was met with comparable levels of commercial and critical acclaim and success. His fifth studio album, Animal Ambition (2014), marked the beginning of a transition in his musical style, and he is presently working on his sixth studio album. He appeared in the television series Power (which ran from 2014 to 2020) and served as an executive producer for the show.

He is also scheduled to produce the show’s spin-offs. Jackson was brought into the world in the New York City borough of Queens, and his mother Sabrina brought him up in the South Jamaica area of the same city. Sabrina, a heroin dealer, brought up Jackson until the time of her death, which occurred in a fire when Jackson was 8 years old. During the course of an interview, Jackson disclosed the fact that his mother was a lesbian. Jackson’s maternal grandmother and paternal grandfather brought him up after the passing of his mother and the departure of his father.

Around the age of 11, he started boxing, and when he was 14, a neighbor opened a boxing facility for youngsters in the surrounding area. “When I wasn’t killing time in school, I was either sparring in the gym or selling crack on the strip,” Jackson recalled. While he was in elementary school, he peddled crack cocaine. “The ring is a competitive environment, and so is hip-hop… I believe rappers condition themselves like boxers, which is why I get the impression that they are all competing for the title of champion.

When Jackson first started rapping, he did so in the basement of a friend’s house. There, he utilized turntables to record himself rhyming over instrumentals. In the year 1996, he was introduced to Jam Master Jay of Run-DMC by a friend. At the time, Jam Master Jay was in the process of founding Jam Master Jay Records. He was educated by Jay in the art of counting bars, writing choruses, constructing songs, and producing albums. Jackson made his debut on the song “React” by Onyx, which was included in the band’s album Shut ‘Em Down in the year 1998.

He gave Jam Master Jay credit for helping him become better at writing hooks, and Jay produced Jackson’s debut album, which was never released to the public. In 1999, after Jackson had parted ways with Jam Master Jay, he was signed to Columbia Records by the multi-platinum-selling producer’s Trackmasters.

They dispatched him to a recording studio in upstate New York, where he cranked out thirty-six songs in the span of two weeks.  Of these, eighteen were selected for inclusion on his album titled Power of the Dollar, which was released in the year 2000. Jackson is credited as being one of the co-founders of Hollow Point Entertainment alongside ex-G-Unit member Bang ‘Em Smurf.

with writing the controversial and successful underground hit “How to Rob” during a thirty-minute drive to a recording studio, Jackson’s popularity started to rise with the release of the song. This track makes light of the fact that he would steal from well-known artists. Jackson provided an explanation for the meaning of the song, saying, “There are a hundred artists on that label; you’ve got to differentiate yourself from that group and make yourself relevant.”

Rappers Jay-Z, Kurupt, Sticky Fingaz, Big Pun, DMX, Wyclef Jean, and the Wu-Tang Clan provided their responses to the single, and Nas urged Jackson to join him on his Nostradamus tour. Despite the fact that “How to Rob” was supposed to be released with “Thug Love” (a collaboration with Destiny’s Child), Michael Jackson was shot and taken to the hospital two days before the scheduled filming of the music video for “Thug Love.”

On May 24, 2000, Jackson was assaulted by a gunman outside of the house in South Jamaica that had formerly belonged to his grandmother. After getting into a car belonging to a friend, the man was informed that he needed to go back to the house to retrieve some jewels; at the time, his son was inside the house, and his grandmother was standing in the front yard.

After Jackson had retreated to the back seat of the vehicle, a second car drew up nearby. The assailant stepped up to Jackson, pulled out a 9mm handgun, and fired nine shots at close range. Jackson was hit by bullets in the hand, arm, hip, both legs, chest, and left cheek.

He also had one leg broken. As a result of the damage to his face, he had a somewhat slurred voice, his tongue was swollen, and he lost one of his wisdom teeth; his companion was injured in the hand. They were transported to a hospital, and Jackson ended up staying there for thirteen days. Three weeks later, the presumed assailant, Darryl Baum, a close friend of Mike Tyson and his bodyguard, was gunned down and killed.
