Greta Van Susteren Bio, Life, and Career:
Greta Conway Van Susteren is a well-known sports commentator and journalist in the United States. She has worked as a television news anchor for CNN, Fox News, and NBC News in the past, and she has more than 25 years of experience in the television news industry. She was the host of the show ‘On the Record with Greta Van Susteren’ for a total of 14 years on the Fox Channel.
Greta was a criminal defense and civil trial lawyer before joining CNN, where she worked for more than a decade in various capacities, including as a legal analyst, a co-host of the show ‘Burden of Proof for eight years, and as a host of the news show ‘The Point.’ She is an experienced news anchor who has visited the world, including such challenging countries as Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, and Sudan.
During her travels, she has interacted with prominent figures such as presidents, secretaries of state and defense, and other government officials. She has an amazing track record of interviewing notable personalities in the entertainment and sports worlds as well. In 2016, ‘Forbes Magazine’ named her the 94th most powerful woman in the world.
In addition to that, the Israeli American Council granted her its Honest and Fairness award for 2016. Greta Van Susteren had a full-time legal profession as well as a stint teaching part-time at the Georgetown University Law Center before she began a career in television journalism. During the coverage of the O. J. Simpson murder trial in 1991, she worked as a legal analyst for CNN. This led to her stints as a co-host on the legal talk show ‘Burden of Proof’ and the news program ‘The Point’ on the same channel. Her career began in 1991. In the year 1988, she appeared as a celebrity guest in the episode of “Space Ghost Coast to Coast” that was broadcast on Cartoon Network.
After her working relationship with CNN started to deteriorate, she parted ways with the network in 2002 and started working for Fox News Channel instead. She became the host of the current affairs show “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren” in the beginning of her career.
She resigned from her position at Fox News on September 6, 2016, after having worked there for a total of 14 years. Nevertheless, her departure from the channel was a quite chaotic affair. She was removed from her position without being given the opportunity to bid farewell to her audience and was instead notified by a messenger that she “was being taken off the air” immediately.
It is said that Rupert Murdoch, the patriarch of the firm that Fox’s parent company, 21st Century Fox, did not approve of her attempt to renegotiate her contract in which she asked for a significant increase in income. Following her departure, Fox removed both the ‘On the Record’ website and her Gretawire blog from the internet. On the other hand, Van Susteren resorted to Facebook to explain her departure from the show. Brit Hume was quickly promoted to take up the hosting duties for ‘On the Record’ at the network.
At the beginning of 2017, she entered into an agreement with NBC News to host an ET program on the company’s news channel, MSNBC. On January 9, 2017, the first episode of “For the Record with Greta” was shown to the public. Despite this, MSNBC fired her without warning on June 29, 2017, less than half a year after she started working there. Her show had been performing poorly in the ratings, and there had been no prior indication that she would run into any difficulties.

Before marrying Greta, Coale was previously married to two other women. They are adherents of the Scientology religion and its church. Her husband fought through throat cancer and had open-heart surgery while he was undergoing treatment for it. The pair makes their home in Washington, District of Columbia.
