Jacob Tomuri Bio, Life, and Career:

Jacob Tomuri is a New Zealand actor and stuntman. He was born on December 4, 1979, in New Zealand. During the 2000–2001 television season, he played the role of Lieutenant Luke in almost 50 episodes of The Tribe, a teen science fiction series that aired in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. In 2001, he contributed his talents as a stunt performer to all three installments of The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.

He has appeared in episodes of the long-running television soap opera Shortland Street (2004–2005), Revelations – The Initial Journey (2003), and the series Legend of the Seeker (2008), which is syndicated by ABC and for which he has also done regular stunt work. These appearances were all in New Zealand.

He appeared in supporting roles in the 2001 New Zealand film Snakeskin, as the pirate Bill Jukes in the 2003 film Peter Pan, and in the horror thriller 30 Days of Night, produced by Columbia Pictures. He also played a pivotal part in the 2001 short film Ergotism. He performed some stunts and had a small part in the blockbuster film Avatar, both of which he worked on. Spartacus: Blood and Sand, a television series produced by Starz, features some of his stunt work (2010).

Since 2013, he has been working as Tom Hardy’s stunt double in movies such as Mad Max: Fury Road, Legend, The Revenant, and Venom. Jacob Tomuri is the youngest of four children. Even though he was passionate about it and could not imagine doing anything else with his life, he was not successful in his high school drama class.  When Jacob had finished his secondary schooling, he began working and studying at The New Zealand College of Performing Arts in Porirua. He remained there for two years. Soon after he had his diploma, he was hired on as a stuntman for The Lord of the Rings.

Although initially a contract for only four weeks, it was later extended to cover a year and a half. Jacob was the only member of the stunt crew of 20 who was under the age of 18. During his time working on The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, he gained a great deal of experience in stuntwork. While he was working as a stuntman, he also had a role as Lieutenant Luke in the third series of The Tribe and a brief role in the movie Snakeskin. Both of these roles were in addition to his employment as a stuntman. In 2004, he was honored as the CLEO Celebrity Bachelor of the Year and received the award for that year.  Jacob has a fiancée and two sons who are both grown up.
