Keke Palmer was birth on August 26, 1993 (age 30 years) in Harvey, Illinois, United States. Keke Palmer is the stage name of American actress, singer, and television personality Lauren Keyana Palmer, also known simply as Keke. Ever since she was a little girl, she has always had a strong interest in singing and acting. She had her acting debut when she was only nine years old in the movie “Barbershop 2: Back in Business.”

Since then, she has been in various films and television series. Her portrayal of Akeelah in ‘The Wool Cap’ and ‘Akeelah and the Bee’ sent shockwaves across the entertainment industry. She is a prominent cast member on the television program ‘Scream Queens’ and has played the lead part in the series ‘True Jackson, VP.’ She provided the voice for an essential character in the Ice Age movie series, which she narrated. She has released two studio albums, two extended plays (EPs), and three mixtapes, in addition to singing on several songs in her programs and films.

As a philanthropist, Keke Palmer is involved in the charitable initiative “Cool to Be Smart,” which aims to increase young children’s awareness of the importance of education. She has also worked with ‘Saving Our Daughters’ and the YWCA to tackle bullying and abuse globally.
Keke Palmer was born on August 26, 1993, in Harvey, Illinois, to Sharon and Larry Palmer, who had previous acting careers. Keke is the daughter of Sharon and Larry Palmer.

Her mother is a high school teacher who works with students with autism, and her father is employed by a firm that manufactures polyurethane. She begged her mother to allow her to lead in the church chorus when she was only a little girl. When she was five, she sang ‘Jesus Loves Me’, and her performance blew everyone away. She delivered a solo concert in the play that her kindergarten class put on when she was six and captivated the audience with her voice.

She tried out for the role of Simba in a theater performance of “The Lion King” when she was nine years old. Despite the casting director’s appreciation of her abilities, she did not get the part because the director felt she was too young. During this period, she pleaded with her family to relocate to Los Angeles (LA), where she believed she would have a greater chance of landing acting roles. After learning that casting directors are eager to cast her, her parents were persuaded that she has a future in the entertainment industry and should pursue a career in that field.

Although Keke Palmer has always been interested in singing, she did not have her first break in the entertainment industry until 2004 when she appeared in the film “Barbershop 2: Back in Business.” She portrayed the character’s niece, which was Queen Latifah’s role in the show. She had just been living in Los Angeles for a little over a month when she got a part in an episode of the CBS series ‘Cold Case’ (2004). Within a single year, she was featured in a national K-Mart commercial. She was chosen via a competition on a national level to star alongside William H. Macy in the film “The Wool Cap.” Her critical praise for her performance in the movie was well deserved.

During this period, she participated in the ‘American Idol spin-off series ‘American Juniors,’ which was subsequently canceled, to establish herself as a vocalist. However, the series was ultimately canceled. In 2005, she was given a recording contract by Atlantic Records and released her first single. The song was titled “All My Girlz,” and it was eventually included in the score of the film “Akeelah and the Bee.” She appeared in the television movie “Knights of the South Bronx” in 2005. During the same year, she also appeared as a guest on three other television series: “Second Time Around,” “ER,” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”

In 2006, she was chosen to play the starring part of “Akeelah Anderson” in the film “Akeelah and the Bee,” which won several awards. She portrayed a poor but intelligent kid who competed in the “Scripps National Spelling Bee,” her performance endeared her to both the critics and the public. She was cast in a supporting part in the movie “Madea’s Family Reunion” the same year it was released. During the VH1 ‘Save the Music’ Battle of the High School Marching Bands competition in Carson, California, in November 2006, she gave her debut performance in front of thousands of people for the first time.

After that, she was also seen in the music video for the song “Runaway Love,” which was performed by Ludacris and Mary J. Blige. In the same year, her song “Tonight” was chosen to be played as the opening number for the film “Night at the Museum,” which had a musical finale. Her songs “It’s My Turn Now” and “Jumpin'” were included in the 2007 Disney Channel Original Movie “Jump In!,” in which she played the main character of Mary. The movie also featured her music. In addition, she had a supporting part in the suspense film “Cleaner,” which she starred in opposite Samuel L. Jackson and Eva Mendes.

The lead song from her first album, titled ‘So Uncool’ and released on September 18, 2007, was titled ‘Footworkin’. Despite receiving outstanding reviews from critics, the album had a low showing on the Billboard’. In 2008, she was selected to play the main character, True Jackson, Vice President, in the Nickelodeon comedy. In addition to that, Palmer was responsible for performing the show’s theme song. Both ‘The Longshots’ and ‘Shrink’ were released the same year, with her starring in significant roles in both movies.

She signed with Interscope Records in 2010, previously with Atlantic Records. The following year, she disseminated her first mixtape under Awaken, which included the track “The One You Call.” 2012 saw the release of her second mixtape, named after her. She had a critical voice part in the Nickelodeon series ‘Winx Club’ from 2011 to 2014, which ran for three seasons. In the animated film ‘Ice Age: Continental Drift,’ released in 2012, she also provided the voice of the character Peaches.

In the same year, she appeared in the movie “Joyful Noise” with Queen Latifah for the second time, and she also produced and performed in the musical “Rags” for Nickelodeon. The Fox horror series ‘Scream Queens’ was one of her most notable appearances in recent years. Since 2015, she has taken on the role of Zayday Williams, the show’s main character, for two seasons.
