Lady Gaga Bio, Life, and Career:

Lady Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, was born on March 28, 1986, in the United States. She is an American singer, songwriter, and actress who goes by the stage name Lady Gaga. She has transformed her image on multiple occasions, and she has a wide range of musical influences. Gaga began her career as a performer when she was a youngster, participating in school plays and singing at open mic nights. Before deciding to pursue a career in music full-time, she attended the New York University Tisch School of the Arts Collaborative Arts Project 21, which is part of the Tisch School of the Arts.

Following the termination of her agreement with Def Jam Recordings, she began working as a songwriter for Sony/ATV Music Publishing, where she inked a joint deal with Interscope Records and KonLive Distribution in the year 2007. Her first studio album, The Fame, as well as the chart-topping songs “Just Dance” and “Poker Face,” both from that album, were responsible for Gaga’s breakthrough the following year. Later on, the album was reissued, and this time it included the extended play The Famous Monster (2009).

This was the release that was responsible for the successful songs “Bad Romance,” “Telephone,” and “Alejandro.”Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta was born on March 28, 1986, in Manhattan, New York City, at the Lenox Hill Hospital.  She was born into a Catholic family that belonged to the upper middle class. Her mother and father both come of Italian descent.

Her mother, Cynthia Louise (née Bissett), is a philanthropist and business executive, while her father, Joseph Germanotta, is an Internet entrepreneur.  She has a younger sister whose name is Natali, and her parents work in the business world.  Gaga stated in interviews that both of her parents were from working-class backgrounds and had to put in a lot of effort in order to achieve anything in life. Gaga was raised on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.  She began her education at the Convent of the Sacred Heart, a Roman Catholic all-girls convent school when she was 11 years old.

Gaga has said that the high school version of herself was “extremely focused, very studious, very disciplined,” but she was also “a touch insecure.” She felt like an outsider and was teased for “either being too provocative or too weird.” She believed that she did not belong. Gaga’s mother insisted that she become “a cultured young woman” and encouraged her daughter to start playing the piano when she was just four years old. She began playing the piano at a young age and continued her training throughout her life.

Her training enabled her to compose music by ear, which she favored over the more traditional method of reading sheet music. Her parents inspired her to seek a career in music and put her in a camp specializing in the creative arts. When she was a young adult, she would perform at open mic nights. While attending Regis High School, Lady Gaga starred as the lead character Adelaide in the production of Guys and Dolls and as Philia in the production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

In addition to that, she spent ten years training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, where she learned method acting. Gaga tried out for a number of shows in New York, but she was not cast in any of them. However, she did have a cameo as a high school student in an episode of The Sopranos from 2001 called “The Telltale Moozadell.” Despite this, her auditions were not successful. In 2003, when Gaga was just 17 years old, she was granted early entrance to the Collaborative Arts Project 21, a music school housed within the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University (NYU), where she stayed in a dorm on the NYU campus.

She majored in music there and honed her songwriting abilities by penning essays on art, religion, social concerns, and politics, including a thesis on pop artists Spencer Tunick and Damien Hirst. She also attended the institution.  In 2005, she withdrew from school in the middle of her second year, during the second semester, in order to concentrate on her profession as a musician. In the same year, she also participated in the hoax reality television show Boiling Points on MTV, in which she portrayed an unaware diner patron.

Gaga disclosed that she had been the victim of a sexual assault when she was 19 years old, for which she later sought treatment in both mental and physical therapy. She was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a result of the event, and she says that the assistance she received from her doctors, family, and friends was important in her recovery.  Later on, Gaga disclosed further information regarding the rape, including the fact that “Since I was sick and throwing up after having been raped, the person who did it dropped me off at my parent’s house on a corner when I was pregnant. Because I’d been getting abused. I was confined to a studio for an extended period of time.”
