Melissa Manchester is a well-known American actress, singer, and songwriter. She was born on February 15, 1951, in the United States. Adult contemporary radio stations have played her music ever since the 1970s. Her songs are still popular today. She has also made appearances on both stage and screen, including television and movies. Manchester was born into a musical family in the borough of the Bronx, which is located in New York City.

Her father, David Manchester, spent three decades playing the bassoon for the New York Metropolitan Opera. Ruth Manchester Ltd. was one of the first companies that her mother designed and founded.
