Tonee Hayes, who was born on January 11, 1995, is an American rapper who hails from the city of Vallejo, California. He is best known by his stage name, Nef the Pharaoh. Fans voted for him to win the title of “Bay Area Freshman of the Year” in 2014, which is an award given out by Thizzler.com as part of an annual competition. His song “Big Tymin'” became a regional smash at the beginning of 2015, and a music video for the song was produced not long after Nef the Pharaoh got a recording contract with Sick Wid It Records. YG and Ty Dolla $ Ign collaborated on a new version of “Big Tymin'” that was released in July 2015.

After “Big Tymin” had gained popularity in the surrounding area, Nef the Pharaoh signed with E-40’s Sick Wid It labels in the early part of 2015, and the label re-released the song under their imprint. In July 2015, YG and Ty Dolla $ Ign collaborated to create a new version of their song “Big Tymin’.”  The new version made its online debut on websites such as Hotnewhiphop.com and RapUp.com on July 25.

Nef the Pharaoh did a live freestyle performance on the radio station Power 106 in October 2015, and he has also done live performances on KMEL-FM.
