These extended plays were titled Lice (2018), Patched Up (2018), Loveworm (2019), Space Cadet (2019), and Our Extended Play (2021). Her first full-length studio album, titled Fake It Flowers, was released in October 2020 and was met with praise from music critics. Beatopia, her second album created in a recording studio, was released on July 15, 2022.

Beabadoobee provided support for labelmates 1975 on various legs of their Music for Cars Tour. They also provided backing for the American singer Clairo on her Immunity Tour. She was given the Radar Award at the 2020 NME Awards and was nominated for the Rising Star Award at the 2020 Brit Awards. Both of these honors took place in 2020. In addition, the annual Sound of 2020 survey conducted by the BBC and comprised of music critics projected that Beabadoobee would be a breakout act in the year 2020.

During the Eras Tour that Taylor Swift headlined in 2023, Beabadoobee served as an opening act for her. Laus was born in Iloilo City, which is located in the Philippines, on June 3, 2000. She relocated to London with her parents when she was three years old. She spent her childhood in West London listening to traditional Filipino music as well as pop and rock music from the 1980s. Her musical influences came from the Philippines. She enjoyed listening to indie rock artists such as Karen O, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Florist, and Alex G when she was a youngster.

She attended Sacred Heart High School for the first twelve years of her education before transferring to Hammersmith Academy for the final three years of her secondary education. After learning to play the violin for seven years, Laus finally got her hands on a used guitar at the age of 17 and began to study its instrument. She learned to play the guitar by watching instructional videos on YouTube that were created by other talented guitarists. Kimya Dawson and the music from the movie Juno served as sources of motivation for her to begin composing music.

The song “Coffee” was the first song that Beabadoobee ever wrote on her guitar. In September 2017, she released both the original version of the song as well as a cover of Karen O’s “The Moon Song.”The song “Coffee” attracted the attention of Dirty Hit Records and received more than 300,000 views on YouTube. In April of 2018, she became a member of the label.

Subsequent to this, she released her first extended play (EP), titled “Lice,” in March 2018, and her second extended play, titled “Patched Up,” in December 2018. Beabadoobee was included alongside Billie Eilish on the NME’s annual list of “essential new artists,” which is referred to as the “NME 100.” This announcement was made in January 2019. After that, she came out with her third extended play titled Loveworm. In July 2019, Beabadoobee released an acoustic EP titled Loveworm (Bedroom Sessions), which featured songs from this EP.

Beabadoobee went on her first tour in September 2019, accompanying Clairo on her Immunity Tour. This was immediately followed by the release of her fourth extended play (EP), titled Space Cadet, in October 2019. The following month, on October 25, 2019, Beabadoobee was featured on the front cover of NME. She was one of the finalists for the Rising Star Award at the Brit Awards in December 2019, which took place in 2020. Beabadoobee published two singles on Spotify in the month of November 2019.

One of the singles was a rendition of “Don’t You Forget About Me” by Simple Minds, and the other was a version of “She Plays Bass” that was recorded in Abbey Road Studios in London. Beabadoobee was selected for the longlist of the annual BBC poll of music critics, Sound of 2020, in the month of December 2019. After being announced as the winner of the Radar Award in February 2020, Beabadoobee gave a performance at the NME Awards. She supported her fellow labelmates 1975 on both legs of their Music for Cars Tour in the United Kingdom in February 2020. She was supposed to also support the band during the North American leg of this tour in April 2020; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tour was postponed.

The first track “Coffee” released by Beabadoobee in 2017 was sampled for the song “Death Bed (Coffee for Your Head)” released by the Canadian rapper Powfu in 2019. The song became Beabadoobee’s first official chart entry in her career both domestically and internationally when it went viral on the app TikTok in early 2020, becoming a phenomenally popular sleeper smash on its way to being Beabadoobee’s first official chart entry. By April of the following year, it had broken into the top five of the charts in a number of nations, including the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

It attained the rank of gold certification in Belgium, Canada, France, Mexico, and New Zealand, as well as Platinum or a higher level in the United States of America and the United Kingdom, amongst other nations. When asked about how she felt when “Death Bed” became popular, Beabadoobee responded by saying, “I’m not going to lie, it was overwhelming… It really grated my nerves. It bothered me that more people knew about the first song I’d ever written, rather than the other songs I’d written. I used to be so obstinate, but eventually, I came to terms with the fact that that’s just the way life is. I have a lot of appreciation for the fact that it was created since it has provided me with even more options.
