Douglas James Grothe is an American author and public speaker who discusses topics that lie at the intersection of science, critical thinking, atheism, religion, and the paranormal. Grothe was born on June 25, 1973, in the United States. As someone who takes an active position in the skeptical community, he has held leadership roles at both the Center for Inquiry (CFI) and the James Randi Educational Foundation.

During his time at CFI, he was the host of the podcast known as Point of Inquiry. Following his departure from Point of Inquiry, he went on to host the radio show and podcast known as For Good Reason.
