Duncan James Bio, Life and Career:

Duncan James is a Scottish singer and actor who was born in England as Duncan Inglis on April 7, 1978. In 2001, he rose to prominence as a member of the boy band Blue, and subsequently, he gained widespread recognition for his role as Ryan Knight in the British serial series Hollyoaks. James Inglis was up in Dorset as an only child, and he received the most of his upbringing from his mother Fiona Inglis and his grandparents since his biological father left his mother before James was born.

He was brought up in a “strict Catholic” household and had his education at Dumpton School (Blandford Forum), Milldown School (Blandford Forum), Corfe Hills School (Broadstone), and Sidmouth College. His grandfather was a music teacher at Dumpton School (East Devon). He took on the role of Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream when he was 15 years old. In the Sidmouth Youth Theatre production of Sherlock Holmes, he had the role of Dr. Watson.

Early in the year 2000, James and Antony Costa were successful in persuading Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe to become members of the band Blue. Blue was able to attain commercial success in the United Kingdom and in many other countries, including Ireland, Portugal, Belgium, Italy, France, New Zealand, and Australia, because to the R&B-influenced pop sound that the band performed. In May of 2001, the band issued their first song, titled “All Rise,” which ultimately peaked at position No. 4 on the UK Singles Chart.

Their subsequent song, “Too Close,” was released in August of 2001 and reached its highest position on the Singles Chart in the UK at number one. They then went on to accomplish a second number one with the ballad “If You Come Back” in the month of November. It was just in time for Christmas when the album All Rise was published, and it quickly climbed to the top of the UK Albums Chart. In the end, more than 1.8 million copies of the album were sold in the UK.

In March of 2002, “Fly By II,” the album’s last single, peaked at position No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. One Love, the band’s second studio album, was released in October of 2002. It was immediately ranked number one on the UK Albums Chart and went on to sell more than 150,000 copies. From this album, three singles were taken and released: “One Love,” which reached No. 3, “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word,” featuring vocals from Elton John, which reached No. 1, and “U Make Me Wanna,” which reached No. 4, respectively.

Guilty, the band’s third studio album, was released in the fall of 2003. Like their previous two albums, it debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and sold 100,000 copies in its first week of availability. The album gave birth to four singles, including “Guilty,” which reached the top spot on the singles chart, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours,” which featured vocals from Stevie Wonder and Angie Stone, and “Breathe Easy,” which reached the top spot on the singles chart, and “Bubblin’,” which reached the top spot on the singles chart.

Best of Blue and 4 Ever Blue are the names of two compilation albums that were released in 2004 and 2005, respectively. “The Gift,” “It’s Alright,” and “Elements” are the three songs that have only ever been played live in Japan prior to the release of 4 ever Blue. According to the information provided in the record booklet, a live performance of “Lonely This Christmas” from CD:UK was supposed to be track seven on the album; however, for reasons that are still unclear, this track was omitted from the track listing.

The album was released in numerous countries in Europe, as well as Japan, Thailand, and China; however, due to its poor sales performance, it did not appear on any of the music publications’ albums charts. Despite the fact that copies were easily accessible, the record was never officially distributed in the UK.James made his comeback to the music world in May 2006 with his solo song “Sooner or Later.” He released the music video for the track at the beginning of May, and he intended to make the single available for purchase on June 5, 2006.

The video climbed all the way to the second spot on The Box and the fifth spot on The Hits. However, the song was not a financial success and only peaked at number 35 when it first appeared on the British charts. After its first week, it fell all the way down to number 72. The next song released by James was titled “Can’t Stop a River.” The song was only able to peak at position No. 59 in the UK and No. 97 in Ireland after its release on August 21, 2006. The song “Can’t Stop a River” was published a day earlier in continental Europe than it was in the UK, and it was met with the same level of failure there as it was in the UK.

As a result, it was removed from the singles charts in numerous countries, including France, Turkey, Germany, and Belgium. In its first week of release in the UK, James’ album failed to meet expectations, selling less than 1,000 copies (and failing to reach the Top 50). The album was purchased in its whole 412,350 times all around the globe.

Despite the fact that his debut album, Future Past, did not perform as well as he had hoped it would (except in Italy, where it reached No. 2 on the chart and was certified platinum for shipments of 80,000 copies), on February 2, 2007, the music channel B4 premiered the music video for his new single, “Amazed,” which was scheduled to be released on March 12, 2007. On the other hand, there was an absence of interest once again.
