Mayorkun Bio, Life, and Career:

Osun State, Nigeria was the location of Mayorkun’s birth on March 23, 1994. He is the first of three children to be born into a family that works in the entertainment industry. Both of his parents work in the entertainment industry; his mother is an actress in Nollywood, and his father is an artist and movie producer.

According to Mayorkun, “learning the rudiments of music” was one of the first things he did when he joined the choir when he was very young. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Lagos, and prior to his discovery in 2016, he was working in the banking industry. In February 2016, Davido came across Mayorkun’s cover video which encouraged him to look for a new career. Mayorkun had been working as a banker but was unhappy with the income, so he decided to look elsewhere.

When Davido followed him on Twitter and Instagram, Davido questioned him about whether or not he was capable of doing anything but playing the piano. On the same day that he handed in his resignation letter, he received a phone call from Davido. He also forwarded some of the tracks that he had already recorded to Davido.

Davido came to the conclusion that he should become a member of Davido Music Global. In 2016, Mayorkun made his debut as a member of the label with the release of his single “Eleko.” On May 1, 2016, the song made its debut at position number 9 on the Nigeria Playdata charts, and by May 28, 2016, it had reached position number 5 on those charts. Moreover, a date for the Lagos version of the competition was disclosed. In 2018, Mayorkun embarked on a tour of the United Kingdom alongside label mate Dremo.
