Michael Butler Bio, Life, and Career:

Michael Butler is a musician and podcaster from the United States who was born on December 24, 1961, in San Francisco, California. The Rock and Roll Geek Show, one of the early podcasts and a prominent program on Mevio (previously PodShow), a podcasting start-up where Butler worked as Director of Programming from late 2005 until 2013, is largely responsible for his widespread notoriety. He resigned from his position there in order to launch his own multimedia video production company, which he named “MySourceTV,” in partnership with another person, Laura Rose.

In his own band, which goes by the name American Heartbreak, Butler is both a bass guitarist and a singer. In the past, he has also been a member of the hardcore band Stevie Stiletto and the thrash metal band Exodus, where he played the bass. Since 2006, he has also been playing with the San Francisco band Jetboy; however, he was kicked out of the band live on his podcast at the beginning of November 2009 after voicing his dissatisfaction and frustration that the drummer had recently quit the band.

In July of 2009, Butler performed alongside Ginger from the band Wildhearts from the United Kingdom, as well as former Cult bass player Billy Morrison, at the El Ray Theater and The Viper Room in Los Angeles.
