Scott Patterson Bio, Life, and Career:

Scott Patterson is a well-known American actor who was born on September 11th, 1958. He is most recognized for his roles as Peter Strahm in the Saw movie and Luke Danes in the Gilmore Girls television series. In addition, he portrayed Michael Buchanan in the NBC drama series The Event and a Tenctonese alien leader in the television movie Alien Nation: Dark Horizon. Both of these roles were included in his acting career.

Patterson was born on September 11th, 1958 in the city of Philadelphia, in the state of Pennsylvania,  Born in Haddonfield, New Jersey, he had his high school education at Haddonfield Memorial High School, from which he graduated in 1977. He then went on to attend Rutgers University, where he majored in Comparative Literature but finally dropped out to focus on his baseball career.

In New York, he studied acting under the tutelage of acclaimed instructors Robert Lewis and Sondra Lee. At the Actors Studio, where he was also a member of the Producer’s Unit led by Penn, he was presented with the teachings of Paul Newman, Arthur Penn, and Frank Corsaro. Patterson was a professional pitcher in the minor leagues for seven years, beginning in 1980 and ending in 1986. He reached the highest level of the minor leagues, known as Triple-A, before moving on to the major leagues. He participated in the farm systems of both the Atlanta Braves and the New York Yankees while playing for a total of seven different minor league teams.

As a result of his play, he was selected to play on four separate all-star teams. Patterson was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the first round, 12th overall, of the 1980 Major League Baseball secondary draft (which is a separate event from the amateur draft).
