Eric Clapton Bio, Life, and Career:

Eric Patrick Clapton CBE is a rock and blues guitarist, singer, and composer from the United Kingdom. He was born on March 30, 1945. It is generally agreed that he is among the most successful and important guitarists in the history of rock music. Clapton came in at number two on Rolling Stone’s list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” and he was named number four on Gibson’s list of the “Top 50 Guitarists of All Time.” In 2009, he was also ranked fifth on Time magazine’s list of “The 10 Greatest Electric Guitar Players.”

This honor was bestowed upon him. Clapton joined the Yardbirds in 1963, succeeding Top Topham as the band’s founding guitarist. Prior to this, Clapton had played in a variety of various local bands.
